News make people take notice and unfortunately flippers are the first to latch on. The fact that his works are now selling out of every website tells it's own story. If you liked him before the Obama story you woukd have had an item of his work. If you didn't and now have its because your caught up in the hype.(sorry free range for using that word). Its the same everywhere with most artist get a high profile owner/bidder buyer and the world latches on hoping they've just brought the next big investment. Don't get me wrong he defo deserves the regcotion but the flipper don't deserved the profit for his hard work.

If anything, it's quite impressive that no galleries upped their prices after the Obama story. Nelly Duff kept all prices as they were when they could have cashed in. That surely deserves some credit.

I don't think people are flipping these pieces. They're selling out everywhere, no doubt about that, but they certainly ain't being flipped. I also doubt it's worth buying a piece from a gallery at top prices and trying to flip it for a greater sum. Just ain't gunna happen.

I think the opposite is happening. People are buying eines to keep because they're lovely bits of art work. Those who already own them certainly aren't selling them to make a killing.......not yet anyway.

I suppose it's all supply and demand and all that crap. The supply is certainly running low....unless it's a perspex piece you're after.....they seem to be sitting in galleries all over the place.
