15 - 25k to spend for a Banksy (Kate | Lenin), by lee3 on Oct 6, 2010 16:27:22 GMT 1, >>>The Barcode shark is one of my absolute favourites. Im after it for a longer time.<<<
Pop, just making sure you're aware that the one that failed to sell at Bonhmas a year or two ago (which Wiz noted above) is featured in the upcoming dreweatts auction with a much more realistic estimate range.

Thanks for the info Lee, great hint. I just found it on the current catalogue and it is the inner front cover image, not so sure if that helps :-)
The range is far better (30-50k) but plus premium and VAT. And if you have a look at the close-up it is not THAT fantastic piece what I expected. But I will have a look in the flesh next week.

It doesn't help a buyer though to be fair, I doubt cover placement for that venue has anywhere near the impact it would from the 2 premier houses.

I hear you and prefer the shark displayed horizontally like the one Laz had/s but that would cost far more. I happened to see your comment earlier in the thread and despite the fact that it's a tad out of your range on the low end, I thought I'd bring it up since you said it's one of your faves. I think this auction is the 21st which follows the offerings from Sotheby's and Christie's the week prior so you'll have some relevant information beforehand to make an educated guess as to whether or not it's even realistic possibility. Given what's going on in the world right now, my hunch is you would be better nailing something down before the October sales but I've been wrong more times than I can count. good luck
