Kaws Pinocchio & Jiminy , by lifeonwalls on Sept 2, 2010 13:26:21 GMT 1, Pass on the Mr. Spray. As happyshopper pointed out - they are cheap and not that well made. The hardcore vinyl collectors are panning them as well. Too many colorways and this one is too pricey. Not worth $75 let alone the $100+ OG will charge you.

It's Pinocchio with a long nose and his eyes covered and KAWS-ed and jimmy too.
very very colourful, yet disturbingly dark... yummy!

Fair enough Walshy. I appreciate that sculptures are often editions. Can be in any medium. I used the term "toys" not in a disparaging way, but because that seems to be the etrm often used by vendors. Not too sure about the mass production aspect of this being a sculpture, but set that aside. I guess it's just that I dont find plastic toys/sculpures/what you will that aestetically pleasing. Each to thier own though. It's been said before - if we all liked the same thing it would be........ Cheers, and thanks for not shooting me down in flames for expressing what is clearly a minority view. Your a gent. c

Hey gentlemental, agree with everything you say, apart from the disturbingly dark bit (and the yummy bit - but that's very much personal taste). I love my art to be dark and disturbing - I like art that stretches emotions, makes the viewer recoil, and think hard about what they are seeing. For that reason, I love Micalef's work, I love my screaming head by denning, my Salome by Dale Grimshaw (possibly the spookiest piece I own). For this reason I love the work on another current thread re Danny Fox. Forgive me, but I just dont see this toy/sculpture (dare I saw plastic model?) either disturbing or dark. Sorry - all just my opinion of course - and each to their own. For what its worth, I do like Kaws work - just not the toys/... Do hope this is seen as constructive discussion and not slagging off. c

Dont billy silly mate, as you say .. we all have our own tastes which is a good thing. I know exactly what you mean though, I look on the KR forum and am stunned by some of the stuff people buy.
Personally, Kaws is the only guy I buy this kind of thing from and even then there are only 2/3 styles that I would display in my house.
