New DOLK Prints Out NOW!, by BROOKLYNITE on Sept 8, 2010 4:04:00 GMT 1, As many of you know we had the originals for these two upcoming DOLK prints in our last show with him (and M-CITY) last May. We currently have 1 "Prison Painter" on canvas available (from an Edition of 3) as well as a "Boxer" (also from an edition of 3). The work is not as monochromatic as it may seem on-line. Dolk has great way of adding a bit of shading an subtle detail to his work that can only be realized up-close.
For what's it's worth we think both images have very poignant story-lines behind them and in an interesting way both speak about the same struggles. Happy to have huge murals of both here in Brooklyn, NY.

It looked amazing looking at it in the flesh! I really want to love the prisoner image as a print, but for me it is just not quite doing it. I agree with those who say some of his works are so more effective outdoors.
I saw these in Oslo this summer as well, and was very very disappointed.
Maybe if these had been painted, they would have been better, but they were just big digital printouts.
Weak effort.

Prisoner is a classic - just wait. Will defo grow on you but it will be too late for cost price then.
