also there are loads of ways to discover new music legally , john hillcock for example (ex nme radio/xfm) has a weekly itunes podcast for free filled to the brim with new bands.

Shouldn't we support the bands we like, ie pay for the music. You can buy music for next to nothing these days so I don't think there's really any excuse. It's like stealing from your mates.

You're supporting the promoters and venues by doing that, a lot more than the bands themselves. (he says, as a festival promoter!)

I agree with supporting small bands that are trying to make it, but most mainstream acts make a wedge anyway.
