Rough cost of a Banksy, by bluebert on Sept 28, 2010 13:11:16 GMT 1, Hi All,
I wonder if I can get some advice from you guys as street art is fairly new to me.
What is the market cost, roughly speaking, of the Banksy print, No Ball Games, in Green, signed with a COA from POW. The reason I am asking is that I am currently speaking to a seller about a possible purchase, as I like the print and I am looking to invest a little money I have in one, so in the meantime I wanted to do some research around the cost of it first and get some advise.
Any help / advice much appreciated
Rob

Rough cost of a Banksy, by silvermyn on Sept 28, 2010 13:33:43 GMT 1, Hi Rob,
This gallery has one for sale at £2,950 so if you take their profit out of the equation I would generally support walshy's valuation.

Best of luck with it but be warned: Banksy prints are a bit addictive...

Rough cost of a Banksy, by bluebert on Sept 28, 2010 13:46:30 GMT 1, Thanks guys, really appreciate it. I started buying smaller bits from other street artists a while ago and found that I was totally hooked. I have to say this whole forum is great to find out things about street art, fakes etc and helps is agreat learning zone, especially if you are new to the whole scene.
Getting a Banksy would be great though, might be staying in for a month or two. HHMmmmm descisions, decisions....eh
Cheers :-)

Rough cost of a Banksy, by walshy on Sept 28, 2010 13:56:24 GMT 1, Welcome to the addiction blue . A good way to do it is buy unsigned prints for say.. £700 and when you have 3, trade up. If you are anything like me, by the time I raise 1k ive found something else to spend the money on so getting to the 2.5k mark is all but impossible !

Rough cost of a Banksy, by bluebert on Sept 28, 2010 15:29:51 GMT 1, Would you say that the Green print is the rarer and more desirable one to collect out of the two No Ball Game prints?

Rough cost of a Banksy, by walshy on Sept 28, 2010 15:38:20 GMT 1, Id say its personal taste. People qued up for 24hrs to bag one of the versions, so that makes people think its worth more. For me its all about the green, as its the same as the Original version.

Rough cost of a Banksy, by silvermyn on Sept 28, 2010 15:41:53 GMT 1, The green is rarer in the UK but the eidition sizes for grey and green are the same. I'd go for the one that looks best on your walls.
Investment wise, I guess UK fans may be after the green more and overseas fans may want the grey more. Who knows...
edit: actually, you may have to pay VAT on the green version if you're buying it from overseas so if you can pick up a green already in the UK for the same cost as the grey then you'll be saving the cost of the VAT.

Rough cost of a Banksy, by hops on Sept 28, 2010 17:45:17 GMT 1, They are both great and it seems that the green is much harder to come by. People are holding on to them in their collections a bit more than the grey is what I've gathered. It will definitely be a keeper in the long run, as far as images to have on the wall. All my opinion of course!
