Just curious about your thoughts on this Fairey piece? Looks like it was done by Modern Multiples in LA. 4 colours with 3 being metallic. I think it was an edition of 10, for $12k.

Whilst I have a fair few prints and plan to get a fine art piece on my wall in the near future (any leads appreciated), there are others on this board better qualified than me to answer this one...
... my view however is that this looks to be expensive, especially compared to some of the low edition screen prints on to collaged paper and wood that have been available from primary sources in recent times. As for the image, I don't think this is one of his strongest.
Even though I am looking, I would definitely pass on this one.
As I say, just my view, others may disagree.

Thoughts on Dark Wave by Fairey, by sammyman on Oct 9, 2010 9:48:12 GMT 1, Thanks for the comments. This is a little different than the usual Fairey piece. I am drawn to it though because my gut says that it will have lasting appeal. Maybe that is the wrong kind of thing to be looking for in a Fairey piece.
As far as the price. Something tells me prices are going nowhere but up.

Thoughts on Dark Wave by Fairey, by mmmike on Oct 9, 2010 14:08:13 GMT 1, I like it a lot. But way over priced. How big is it? In terms of investment potential, I don't think this will be considered important in 10 or 20 years. imo the valuable stuff will be the things that made him big. The Andre the giant stuff, the real classic images and of course the hope / progress canvas stuff.
Just my opinion though. If you love this one and have the cash, go for it.
