india trip, by Jeezuz Jones Snr on Oct 23, 2010 9:30:12 GMT 1, hi Walshy, you will need some jabs from the doctor.. cant remember but i think 2 are for typhoid and malaria.. I spent a few weeks in GOA a couple of years back, amazing place.. crazy parties, we stayed nr Anjuna beach, the best sunsets. I will never forget one day a hippie bus pulled up and myself and 2 mates sat there on loungers drinking watching a few topless chicks with knee high boots on and a skimpy thong playing frisbee its true what they say, dont have ice in your drinks, i made the error once and was violently ill for 4 days and lost a stone in weight. One last thing get a copy of the book 'Shantaram', brilliant read for when you travel through India... njoi your trip... i cant wait to get back there one day

I spent just over a month by Anjuna a fair few years back, loved it, also spent a month at Palolem beach which was also fantastic. Can't remember what jabs i needed, but i do remember getting quite a few. You'll love it there, Goa is just uber chilled.
Don't go to a random house for a massage is my only advice, the doors locked and the large indian man told me to strip naked, i was out of there like a shot. Also if you're a smoker as i was in those days, some really good stuff grown locally, ask the beach bars and they'll tell you where to get some.
All in all i spent about 5-6 months there, didnt get sick once, my old man went to india with his missus for 2 weeks and got violently sick, and he was staying in top class places. Just shows man.
Great food, great fresh fruit smoothies in Goa, very healthy lifestyle if you dont mind sleeping under the stars. If you're a dancer its ALL trance, really shocked me when we went to the big club there (great venue, again under the stars, cant remember what its called) but the most shocking music and everyone munching their faces off, very weird.
Enjoy!
