Recent Nola Prices, by sharesdjc on Oct 26, 2010 13:25:01 GMT 1, Been looking for a reasonably priced Nola White or grey rain for a while now but keep losing out to people willing to pay a lot more! Was wondering what everyone thinks about this print and why they were going for less than 2 grand a year ago and now you're hard pushed to find one under £3500?!
Also anyone know what Nola grey rain is going for at the moment?
Thanks

Recent Nola Prices, by mohawk21 on Oct 26, 2010 13:28:49 GMT 1, I guess it goes to the supply and demand formula. I have been searching for about 2 months now and the lowest has been £3500.
I really havent seen a grey one around or a color one for that matter other than the green one on ebay a while ago.

Recent Nola Prices, by saint on Oct 26, 2010 13:38:55 GMT 1, Someone on here had a green for sale some time ago from memory....
Its not surprising the prices are high, low edition, nice wall friendly image, not a garish background colour.
Plus i think a few new to the game collectors may have got lucky and as a first signed banksy print its not one to let go of, imo of course......

Recent Nola Prices, by mmmike on Oct 26, 2010 18:52:16 GMT 1, When I was looking for a grey I put a wtb ad here offering $7,500. Lots of people seem to think it was too much but no one was willing to sell. Not an easy thing to find.
I did find one at auction. I ended up paying $5,500 + 22% (I think) premium. Well worth it imo.
It is a supply and demand thing. I think this is a classic image that will be in demand for years to come.
You can wait and try to get lucky or bite the bullet and pay a bit extra. I think there is very little risk of prices going way down since there seems to be lots of people looking. At the same time there is lots of up side because it looks like not to many people are will to sell. At lest that was my thinking when I decided to just go for it.
Good luck with the search

How about saying something like Nola is one of the most over-rated Banksy prints out there and has gone up in value so much that if you buy now, at the worst you're going to be sitting on a 1k loss in the near future and at the best you ain't going to see any increase in value while the likes of Donuts, S&S, NBGs etc will give you a 1k profit in the next couple of years. How's that Wiz?

Recent Nola Prices, by mmmike on Oct 26, 2010 23:28:21 GMT 1, The best way to drive the price down is to sell cheap. Anyone want to sell me one cheap? I'll pay $4,000USD for white, $4,500 for grey, $5,500 for neon. They must be mint with Pest Control certs.
Let's call that the price floor. Anyone want to sell? Don't mean to hijack the thread I will defer to Sharesdjc but if there are more than one of you who want to sell cheap, let me know.

It would be cool if POW / Pest Control would provide a breakdown of where the owners of each of the prints are located by country.
The back story does add to the appeal for me but the main draw is that I really love the image. I'm not completely sure why, it just seems to work for me.

Dont like that so much. Never would sell mine. What every makes a print a classic it worked with the Nola image.

The realism of the situation I have found is that if you have one you're sitting pretty and if you don't you have to shell out top whack to get one

This reminds me of a comment someone made recently on here whereby if you are looking to sell a potential buyer (and i use that term v loosely) will say its a bad time and the market is flooded however if you are looking to buy then the piece is really rare and you will have to fork out, i have found that Estate Agents in general use the same tack.

Recent Nola Prices, by sharesdjc on Oct 27, 2010 10:15:52 GMT 1, So I am therefore attempting to sell a Nola by saying you will have to shell out to get one?! That would make sense if I did have one to sell, but I was actually looking to buy.
No need for all this talk of hype and estate agents, I just wanted to find out peoples opinions on the reality of the recent price rises, I guess to figure out if it's worth me investing at this level

I was not suggesting anything of the kind Sharesdjc, if i was i would have said that i thought you were doing so, i was merely joining in with the general banter of the thread due to this being being a forum. All the best of luck in your search for said print.

Anyway be interested to know what people think one would expect to pay other signed banksy's currently esp as deals seem to be done on here with prices ever being revealed.

Go with reaper, grannies, rat, vm etc... all similar price and you will do better in the long run. Good luck with the sale.
Don't agree at all. Nola has a more widespread appeal than Reaper or Grannies and it will only go in one direction over time. IMO this is a potential future classic in the same way GWB or LN is.

Well, you're wrong, and I am right. Nola has a funny umbrella, and the rain looks shit, reaper has a nice clock and smily face, and Grannies is pretty funny and a nice colour :-) And do you know what? I have gone right off GWB.
