Now in its tenth year, London's Frieze Art Fair is well-established as one of the world's greatest contemporary art fairs. This year also sees the launch of Frieze Masters, a 'little sister' show which features earlier works and explores their relationship with contemporary artists.

Agree, a very irritating evening. And although i tolerate creativity I struggle with approximately 95% of the stuff on display.
I work in fashion and always thought that my business attracts the biggest posers and idiots. Yesterday, I learned that i was wrong.

Frieze Masters should be better.

This May, the fourth iteration of Frieze New York will take over Randall’s Island once again, bringing a bit of Brit-inflected charm to your normal art fair proceedings. There are a few newcomers this year, including Acquavella, Blum & Poe, Freedman Fitzpatrick, Matthew Marks, Pace and Skarstedt, and that’s perfectly exciting. There’s also a new section, Spotlight, which will feature solo artist presentations focused on work made in the 20th Century. The fair preview opens on May 13, with the public opening the next day.

No word on whether Mission Cantina burritos will return, but we’ll keep you posted. The full list is below, and see you guys at Gap Lounge.

‘Introductions …’ is a new series of talks and events curated by frieze associate editor Paul Clinton, inviting international experts to provide accessible, jargon-free primers to key works, ideas and movements in contemporary art and culture.

As the Whitechapel Gallery opens a major retrospective of feminist activist artists the Guerrilla Girls, we invite Helena Reckitt (author of Art and Feminism, Phaidon) to provide a guide to feminism in contemporary art. This evening event will be an accessible introduction to the key ideas and artists that have shaped feminism in contemporary art, from historical precursors such as Sonia Delaunay, to figures like Mary Kelly working in the 1960s heyday of the women’s movement, through to Marina Abramovic and Cindy Sherman, as well as emerging artists including Martine Syms. Through clear, visual examples, the session will cover themes including commodification, consciousness raising, gender masquerade and feminist conceptual art.

Great post Kaos, Some of these sculptures are fantastic. I stumbled upon them taking my son to London Zoo a while back. Shame there was someone there telling kids off for climbing on them, couldn't see any harm being done. I see they have now put little ropes around them.

I am going to the Moniker Art fair in London and see that Frieze is on in regents park on the same day, does anyone have any experience of Frieze - is it worth it from an Urban art perspective? or would the time be better spent visiting galleries instead?

Very little ( if any ) Urban Art.
Better visit some Galleries and the Auction Houses - Frieze week is always great.

IF you want to part with a lot of money for a Frieze ticket go to Frieze Masters which usually has an amazing mix ranging from Old Masters up to Contemporary.
The “normal” Frieze only shows living artists.
