Launching the 12th October, Lazarides in collaboration with Tunnel 228 invites you to our newest off-site exhibition, Hell's Half Acre.
The labyrinth of tunnels beneath Waterloo station will be converted into a large-scale evocation of Dante's Inferno. Visitors will explore a unique interpretation of the nine circles of hell through the vision of your very favorite Laz artists plus additional contributions from outside the normal roster including: Conor Harrington, Vhils, George Osodi, Antony Micallef, Doug Foster, Todd James, Paul Insect, Mark Jenkins, Boogie, Ian Francis, Polly Morgan, Jonathan Yeo and many more.... Interaction with the works will be encouraged and par in part of this multi-sensory experience.
Hell's Half Acre will be open for viewing 12th - 17th October from 6 pm to 11 pm Tuesday through Thursday with extended hours over the weekend. Entry to the exhibition will be free, but as space is limited please book ahead. Time slots will be available shortly, so please bear with us until then.

Staged within the recently discovered labyrinth beneath Londonโs Waterloo station, โHellโs Half Acreโ will be a ground-breaking series of installations launching 12th October 2010. Bringing the vision of Steve Lazarides to one of Londonโs most arresting performance spaces, the maze of tunnels will be converted into a large-scale evocation of Danteโs literary masterpiece, Inferno. Visitors will explore the nine circles of Hell through the contributions of artists including: George Osodi, Antony Micallef, Polly Morgan, Jonathan Yeo, Conor Harrington, Christian Lemmerz, Vhils, Paul Insect, Mark Jenkins, Boogie, David Choe, Doug Foster, Zak Ovรฉ, Todd James, Ian Francis and many more...
Artists will provide their own interpretation of hell with freedom to reference both Purgatorio and Paradiso from the trilogy of The Divine Comedy. Through the curatorial direction, interaction with the exhibited worksโpaintings, sculptures, video pieces, performance and mixed media installationโis encouraged and part of this thrilling multi-sensory experience. Highlights of the exhibition include for the very first time 3-dimensional installations by Conor Harrington and Jonathan Yeo, a new exclusively commissioned film by Todd James/ REAS, the powerfully chilling photographs of George Osodi and Boogie, with a surprise finale by Paul Insect.
