Cute...
The index finger was intentional. It's exactly as it was painted on the original...

Ron English ๐บ๐ธ Popaganda โข Pop Culture โข Toys, by Guest on Apr 26, 2008 6:31:49 GMT 1, Is the measurement 25" x 38" the sheet size or the actual image size? Just trying to think where the hell I'm going to hang this.
25" x 38" is the "live" image area. The paper size, if you wanted to float mount it for example, is approx. 30" x 42". I say approximate because the edge is deckled.

Ron English ๐บ๐ธ Popaganda โข Pop Culture โข Toys, by Guest on Apr 26, 2008 6:37:58 GMT 1, I am extremely excited. I love heavy labor projects. $1000 for that much work is well worth every penny. jetset why is shipping so high for US delivery??
We had to fold the cost of the auxiliary materials, the DVD, Studio Binder, and Certs... They come in a separate package and are also limited to 100 pieces...
The print is packaged in archival materials. It's not a matter of just rolling a piece of paper and throwing it into a tube. If that's what people have become accustomed to, well, I'm sorry about that. We handle fine-art the right way... Our prints are shipped with FedEx Express delivery, or DHL Express... This is not cheap, but is most efficient...

Actually, there's around 6-12 additional paint coats on the hand-touched edition, then we put a really nice semi-matte varnish over the hand-painted areas...
Will be nice to see you next week. I'll make sure we get your reaction to the print on film for the docu. project...

"$120 postage!!!!! In the late seventies/early eighties, in the UK, some peope used to sniff glue...Bostik was popular... Has this craze just hit the US??? Or are you just taking the p iss...? S'funny - everytime I feel I'm getting bum raped when trying to buy a piece - I think less of the artist and the people they work with. How do you feel..? $120 to roll up a piece of paper and put it in a fu ck ing tube... F uck off!"
Thanks for your opinion, although I disagree completely.
You don't like it, don't buy it.
There is absolutely no reason why you should come on here and bash me, the artist, or our project. Especially not when you consider that you haven't even seen the work. Ron English is on another level, and if you're not into that, then that's fine with me. There is no reason that you should bring such negativity into this effort.

Ron English ๐บ๐ธ Popaganda โข Pop Culture โข Toys, by Guest on Apr 26, 2008 6:54:52 GMT 1, Can i ask why the edition size has gone up? You tube video - 112, website 130, total increase approx 15%. Probably shouldn't ask as love it but can't afford it (esp. knowing there is no room on the wall).
The final edition specification were defined through the final curation process, based on conversations between the artist, printer, and publisher. This project ended up going way over budget. We went from an expectation of 24-30 screens to 36...
There's no strategy involved, just practicality...

I hope that this removes the opposition of the very vocal minority in this community who thinks our shipping charge is 'not fair'.

I don't think anyone can understand what we went through in resolving this edition. This isn't an Adobe Illustrator separating job... This is true talent and skill. There was over 70 years of printing experience working on this job... I am confident that you won't see anything like this coming from anyone but JetSet Graffiti.
Best of luck with your sales. Ron English is amazingly talented and I love seeing his work on the streets as much as I do in the galleries! His oils especially blow me awayโฆ
Question on something I was confused over thoughโฆyou said they were hand painted separations. Did Ron English do each of the 36 hand painted separations or Katherine?

Thanks Bro! Your support of the project really means alot... We appreciate that fully!
Sorry for the confusion on the separations. To clarify, Ron and Katherine worked closely on the separations, but Katherine was responsible for all of the work on them. It's almost impossible to find a separator as talented as her who hasn't gone into producing her own art. She is a diamond, and was integral in the making of this print. I can't thank her enough for putting her heart and soul into this project while dealing with all of the pressure from Richard and myself. (...and I know she's reading this. Hehehe.)

My thoughts exactly. I'm glad someone else here is thinking logically.
Anyways, like I've said before:
THERE IS NOW A HAND-CARRY OPTION FOR LONDONERS TO AVOID ALL SHIPPING COSTS. I AM OFFERING FREE DELIVERY TO LONDON NEXT WEEK ONLY. I WILL BE LEAVING THE STATES ON MONDAY, SO THIS OFFER IS ONLY GOOD UNTIL THEN!!!
Now will the 3 people who will not leave it alone, shut up about it? Sorry to be so blunt, but enough is enough already...

They are available to anyone who is in London, or who will meet me in London and shipping will be reimbursed upon delivery. Deliver is hand-carry, and is free! OK?
Orders must be placed by the end of the day on Monday though, so I know how many to bring with me.
There has been some confusion as to availability of this print at the show. They will not be distributed through Elms at all. I just got off the phone with Fiona, and we decided that it would benefit my system to keep it streamlined. I will handle all distribution for this print. They will NOT be available at Elms, but they will be available from me in London...
My phone number is (702) 813-4006, and people are welcome to call me directly to arrange pick-up of this print in London at no extra charge...

I'm sorry but I have to answer this post. You state that someone is thinking "logically" when they say the price could have been $100 extra and shipping $20. What is the logic in this??
You set the price at whatever price you set it at and that is fine - good luck to you. It seems like a really pricey print to make and if you can sell it for $1000 then good luck. But as far as I am concerned you should be shipping at cost, not trying to make a profit out of shipping. It isn't really an answer to say that you can make arrangements to hand deliver a few of the 100 prints you will sell at no shipping cost, because the people who have paid over the odds for shipping will still pay over the odds.
The only response that would be logical is to say - well look hey it's a huge tube, we are shipping it express - the cost is xx dollars and therefore we are not looking to profit out of it.
Oh and by the way what gives you the right to tell people to "shut up" if they express concerns.....

Anyone with a small business account can Fedex a tube overnight for $30 and 2-day service to the UK typically runs about $70
Update: JetSet PM'd in defence of the high shipping cost. Daniel laid out his actual costs and is adding the cost of DVD production etc into the shipping cost instead of the print cost.

OK so some of you think the price of shipping was/is too high, but did any of you think this actually buy the print?

then a few people moan about the price of shipping, so he offers to take them down to london and refund the people who paid for shipping - what more do people want ?
even with the shipping ยฃ600 for a 36 colour ron english screenprint is fantastic value, especially when compared to other prints on sale

also if you read what jetset said, its NOT ONLY THE PRINT BUT THE ASSOCIATED MATERIAL SHIPPED SEPERATELY.
$60 EACH PIECE DON'T SOUND SO BAD DOES IT?
so wind your necks in and shut the fuck up!
