Dropped by โStudio Parlaโ in downtown Brooklyn the other day to check in on the mad calligraphist JOSE PARLA himself & caught a glimpse of some incredible new work-in-progress along with his recent heavyweight piece โParla Family Tree.โ Featuring the artistโs trademark script, the heavily worked layers are actually stories of Parlaโs family history written one on top of another to form a sort of coded archive that only the artist himself can decipher. Expect big things this fall when JP teams up with fellow writing legend FUTURA in a group show of fine art at Elms Lesters in London. Stay tuned to Supertouch for sneek peeks as the show draws nearโฆ

Incredible work. I didn't realise he has a show in Melbourne at the moment. I should get down there.

'The Gestural Symphony of Travel' 2metre by 2 metre canvas using mixed media and is $28000.00 Australian Dollars. I have also attached a PDF with the two other works that areย available with the pricing attached. Please see 'The Grand Tour' which is roughly 1.5metre by 1metre $13000.00 Australian Dollars and 'Words from Uptown' which measure 610mm by 610mm and is priced at $7400.00 Australian Dollars.
Expect them to be a fair bit more at Elms

Thought I'd share it with all of you.
Hello Joseph,
At the moment I am only selling paintings that will be available for my
next exhibition in London. I've just returned from Australia actually and
had two great shows both in Sydney and Melbourne.
Both shows nearly were sold out by the galleries.
I have paper works available for commission starting at $2,500. USD
( 30 x 44 inches )
Please let me know if this interests you. Here's a picture of an
example of what I mean by works on paper.
