Yes, so that they don't steal again... In Kenya, mob justice is part of our daily life; every week, there are people caught stealing by mob and there are lynched, stoned to death or burned with wheel around the neck. It's sad but it's the reality since there are no operating justice system... In Iran, the main problem is that it is more of a political and sentence was pronounced by judicial system.

Amputating people is also done here. Very popular at coast (Muslim area) but at the end, you can walk safely in Mombasa without any problem since thieves are too afraid of getting caught.
