Dran Special Edition, by Urban Cowboy on Dec 14, 2009 15:19:04 GMT 1, Saw someone asking about the Dran special edition on the NBG thread and thought better to put details here.
Just popped in to POW and the new Dran is in the window, it is ยฃ350 and a series of 20. It is the same image as the normal Free Speech edition but the only colours are red and black. I think it is larger than the normal size also.
I had a little think about it but thought the price was high and I prefer the image from the normal edition so I decided to pass.

Why are people only interested in an artist once he's released something with Pictures on Walls? I've loved his work ever since I bought 'Fabrique en France', but to be honest the POW print isn't one of his strongest IMO.

I'm not sure people are only interested in an artist because of POW, I think POW is just a good place to discover artists, just as good as any other way.. Galleries are here for that too.

I agree ...the regular version is awesome ...it was a steal at ยฃ130! The colours are amazing and for me the size is perfect too!

Must have missed them........I bought this print simply because I love the humour in it.

Personally for me it was a case i was keeping my eye out for the Baksy release and i saw this come up. Never had heard of Dran before but as soon as i saw it i loved it. Was also lucky enough to grab one. If it weren't for POW i would be sitting here non the wiser about Dran, but instead i've got a great print to get framed in the new year, so i don't think it's a bad thing.
I've probably bought about 20 prints this year and only two have come from POW, so for me they are not the be all and end all of gallerys......

I'm guessing the owner probably doesn't quite realise that the money saved on not buying the special in the first place would have been enough to cover the framing on the standard...
