LF - Blek Canvas Still....., by saint on Dec 23, 2010 16:46:11 GMT 1, Took a back seat to me getting a CYW, but as thats now sorted and being picked up from my framer this eve, lets get this back on.
So, looking for a Blek canvas. Smaller sizes, larger runs. Would be very interested in a Last Tango or similar.
Not after larger pieces like beggar, david, space cowboy etc, they're nice, but not what i want.
No silly prices thanks.

He did do some rats, i think they were editions of 5 and there was a white on black edition and a black on white edition, so 10 of the little buggers out there.
Also the big issue last tango edition of 25 would be good.
Theres a small begger edition of 10 that could work.
Skull is another one although the above would be preferential.

Someone on here offered me one form the big issue edition a while back, but crazy money. The last big issue last tango at auction was 1100+, but then people get hung up on the + and forget about the sellers fees.
Not after the bigger version as have no where to put it.

Forgive my ignorance, but would I be right to think Blek did the tagging on the piece?
Would like to see the other walls too! As well as the trollis and flags, I can spot a HAND and a BME. I would bet that underneath the BME is a WSM. What else!!

Haha - I'll tell you what else - I bet that is a small Choe og, top left. Looks like the Choe stamp, but could be wrong.

Hi Coach...Blek did indeed do the tagging...this is the original canvas that the print was produced from. Fell in love with it when it came out, big love here for the original bad boy of art, Caravaggio.. who if you don't know introduced "normal" and working class people into "high art".. very controversial at the time..also ended his days hunted by the state for murder after knifing someone in a brawl. Not sure why he appeals anyway, this and Street Art.. was a marriage made in heaven for me.
And yep, spot on with the WSM and Choe !
Feels a bit show offy posting and a little embarrassed doing so.. but thought it might be appreciated on the Blek thread.

Agree with you re Caravaggio - really was an interesting man - something about balls being chopped off and a game of tennis, but I may have imagined that. Do know that he was wanted for murder though.
Took my kids to the last major Caravaggio exhibition that was in London a few years back - it was stunning.
The Blek canvass is amazing. I will have to make do with my beggar print, which I still beleive to be his strongest piece - just a print though, and no tagging (like the tagging on yours very much).
You were not showing off at all though - apologies for the spot the ball game I played with your photo - hope you dont mind.
I even impressed myself though, spotting the Choe og from that little corner of the piece showing and guessing that there was a WSM beneath the HAND and BME! ;D
Hope to see some more pics of your collection soon.
