Takashi Murakami , by truetiger on Dec 18, 2010 2:00:34 GMT 1, Just been on a framers website (based in west london) and ive seen a piece by artist Takashi Murakami. Looks great, nice and colourful and from my search on google his pieces are something i would liek to have on my wall. Where could i find more info about the artist, any shows planned for the UK? Any future shows around the world planned, future prints etc? Thanks

Takashi Murakami , by St. Art Gallery on Dec 18, 2010 12:46:40 GMT 1, This really sucks bacause I bought the original first Flowers print a few years ago.
I think it is a shame that Murakami is actually reproducing the same print in a slightly different colour after years.
Murakami is really pissing off collectors this way. What is the purpose of making an edition when reproducing it after a few years with only minor changes.

Takashi Murakami , by rsj on Dec 18, 2010 14:45:39 GMT 1, Yes, I would suggest eBay too. Apart from the shop at Baltic Centre who is the only official stockist in UK, all other UK galleries would have sourced their Murakami prints in similar secondhand way. Prices on eBay seem competitive compared with the prices at galleries which have been marked up a lot.
Look for sellers who are in Tokyo as they would likely to have bought from the gallery directly. I bought my one Murakami through this route a few years ago, and it was a smooth and fantastic transaction. I ended up meeting the seller when I visited Tokyo for some event this year. If you would like to know his username, just pm me.
