Dran 'Edition Populaire', by Deleted on Dec 29, 2010 13:18:57 GMT 1, I'm dumbfounded by the secondary market prices being achieved by Dran at present - can't recall any recent example any artist prices going from 0-100mph in this manner......
The Chalks stuff at POW (if any left?) appearing 'cheap' whilst on release everyone was moaning that they were too expensive! 20 Euro into nearly 200 in a week or so?

Dran 'Edition Populaire', by supercockle on Dec 29, 2010 17:59:19 GMT 1, I tried to buy the original of the girl with the bag. It's a lovely image.
Myself and good lady do often debate what we will do should children come into our lives.
I think we've opted for keeping the Drans but might change our mind the day we come home to find our son's blown his arm off with his toy soldiers.

Some left when I collected mine on the 23rd, though it's fair to say that the better and more colourful designs have long been sold, most before opening night. Think the best of the rest would be an unframed one with an Invader on it.
Not sure if any of these posters have gone at 200. Think Gibbin is right that the buyer is going to get stung if he holds on to them and insists on trying to flogging them at that rate.
Now that Exhibit seems to be creeping up as well I'm starting to share the concern of others that the next round of releases will be harder to obtain as flippers will surely have noticed the current hysteria

Dran 'Edition Populaire', by lighterboy on Dec 29, 2010 19:17:32 GMT 1, Surely if a colour LTF is currently £800 (4 x cost) and a B&W £325 ( near 5 x cost) then the posters are massively overpriced at 10 times their original value and these are not prints or as limited and unsigned.

Dran 'Edition Populaire', by supercockle on Dec 29, 2010 19:21:23 GMT 1, I think you're right Lighterboy. These are probably all that the flippers were prepared to lay their hands in terms of outlay vs risk. Not many of the more expensive POW prints have made it onto Ebay, which I think shows he has a great deal of genuine fans.

Yes they are, people are either getting sucked in by hype.. or that was a fake auction. Anyone with half a brain would know not to pay silly money for the poster.

Dran 'Edition Populaire', by lighterboy on Dec 29, 2010 19:26:11 GMT 1, There are one of each poster on eBay as auctions which will be a good barometer of what they are truly worth - as long as bidders do net go to crazy early on.

Dran 'Edition Populaire', by Deleted on Dec 29, 2010 19:37:05 GMT 1, These posters were around for ages tho' - even after the mild hysteria was evident.
Swan's earlier observation could well be correct, in that a large proportion of the releases were purchased by collectors and therefore (proportionately) there will be less on the market, driving secondary prices a tad north as the lemmings pursue the next big thing?
POW tend to (with exception of Banksy) be pricing to market lately and I reckon a release of (say) 200 at £400 might just put a few people off. If this wasn't the case the Chalks pieces would've all gone?
