I went along to the show yesterday and I would highly recommend it to anyone who can get through to Bristol before the start of December.  The pieces are made up of multiple layers of clear resin with paint between each layer which gives them a fantastic feeling of depth which I was never going to be able to capture in a photograph.  They're really worth making the effort to go and see in person.  A really beautiful and almost meditative show; as I said, highly recommended.















And also, they're demolishing quite a few of the building on Nelson Street where 'See No Evil' was held and I spotted Cheba's piece holding out against the demolition crews:

That piece was originally shown at an exhibition in the Cube Cinema in 2005/2006 i think.. alongside RichT, 45rpm, Nikill and a few others arranged by Don't Panic. It was when Banksy was really starting to get big and just before the show he had sold his highest selling piece in the thousands (I think a year later Angelina Jolie and Bradd Pitt bought some of his work and thats when he really started to rocket, r maybe is was around the time of the show). I decided to put the piece up for 50p as a bit of a statement, that art should accessible to everyone. the bar staff got a bit annoyed with the amount of people asking to buy it and took the price tag down. I think there was a bit of green on it, so might not be mold.. heres the photo of it hanging in the Cube Cinema below. The background was made of old posters from events i'd put on, mashed with spraypaint, wheat paste, oil (actual car oil) and anything else i could find. As i used to paint in alot of abandoned buildings growing up, when i painted canvases i wanted to create that same feel and texture of the walls from those buildings in my canvas work. It's funny you post that image as before i started doing my more cosmos lead work, it's what inspired me to try and create something a bit more free flowing and fun to paint, rather than trying to get accurate almost vector lines which evolved into the more abstract and cosmic nebula based work.
