WTB Nola...., by hal9001 on Jan 2, 2011 21:44:56 GMT 1, why the gallery never add the price on the pieces for sale??
Because the market is dynamic, some do not list prices. Another reason is the privacy of people who end up buying, they would like it if you didnt know how much they paid. Finally, my mother always said: "if you have to ask, then you cant afford it"

Not talking about this gallery specifically, because i haven't looked but the whole POA thing is well.............
It's just annoying to me, and on standard stuff like prints, I always think if it hasn't got a price they are not really looking to sell to me but someone who even more clueless than me as to market price.
As to fluid pricing, it doesn't take too long to update web pricing.
Having said that it is a great way of getting rid of window shoppers, as the person that takes the time to enquire should hopefully have an interest, hopefully the gallery can then gauge seriousness of potentail purchaser, followed by some good bartering.
Where as a price shown on a site may be viewed as the price expected, and the gallery viewed as taking the piss.
ummmmm

WTB Nola...., by AoT Framing on Jan 3, 2011 10:08:20 GMT 1, No walls is a great gallery. James who runs it is very fair, great guy and the prices on the website (even though you have to ask) are very reasonable and are a lot cheaper than rival galleries in Brighton/London. Now for goodness sake will someone sell him a Nola!

WTB Nola...., by no walls on Jan 3, 2011 12:17:40 GMT 1, Comments about POA noted guys. It's been raised before and I'm going to list prices against more of the work on the site. Learning as we go so all feedback welcomed....
When we launched the site we had prices on everything. The problem, as you've mentioned above, is values fluctuating and trying to keep things competitive....

WTB Nola...., by dotdot on Jan 3, 2011 14:07:28 GMT 1, interesting site - will be sure to pop in next time I'm checking out terre a terre.. just down the road.
btw - if you have a checkout and basket system - kind of makes it tricky if there's no pricing.
good luck btw - some excellent works there.
