Banksy • Choose Your Weapon, GREY Queue Jumping, by Warm Gun on Dec 25, 2010 11:31:15 GMT 1, Just been looking through the completed ebay prices, the editions of 25 are dropping fast. Still more play in them I reackon. We're starting to see the real value and it's a long long way from £4k!!!!
Reading freerange's posts you'd think the opposite was happening.
Look at the FACTS jboy.
Merry Christmas.

Banksy • Choose Your Weapon, GREY Queue Jumping, by Dave on Dec 25, 2010 11:51:17 GMT 1, Exactly! I have a CYW and can still see certain people are hyping this print beyond belief (even though he says he does not have one). Yes its a great banksy and I feel really lucky to have picked one up but in the current market 4k is an inflated price. You can pick up an established classic for around that kind of money.

Banksy • Choose Your Weapon, GREY Queue Jumping, by Karl Read on Dec 25, 2010 13:06:39 GMT 1, I think people are talking this down as much as people are talking it up. I did get one, the true value of these what ever that is I'm sure will be apparent soon. I hope everyone that wants one will be able to get one and prices don't go to high for you. I know this isn't everyones favourite but I love this, a future classic IMO.

Banksy • Choose Your Weapon, GREY Queue Jumping, by Warm Gun on Dec 25, 2010 16:08:06 GMT 1, I don't think anyone is talking this print down banksee, it's a lovely image etc blah blah blah, it's just obvious that a couple of people on here are talking parp and trying to up the value of the print when the actual sale price is dropping at quite a rate.

That makes no sense at all. If you are referring to me then i have no reason to talk anything up. You are all getting played by people with other motives im afraid.
Ive never mentioned money, im talking about how clever the pr has been and what people have not realised yet with the edition sizes. You will in time...

You haven't mentioned money, no, you're playing a smarter game than that. By focusing on the small colour editions and saying (quite a few times) how rare they will become you're scaremongering....the effect of that would be to drive the price up. (and I still beleve you have one...or is it two now? )
The way I see it is that there are 19 colours, of which I like 16, so the small colour editions make no difference to me (and probably most collectors) as I don't care what colour I will eventually get, so in effect, the edition of 25 should make no difference to the long term price. It's not a print run of 25 but 550 odd (or whatever it is) That is why prices are currently falling quickly(along with the hype dying down a little)
I doubt there are many collectors who are 100% adamant on only one colour so people can bide their time and shop around for much more of a bargain.....which is what I'm doing.
Prices have fallen quite a lot and at quite a rate, I guess this won't continue but at the moment £4k is well over the odds. It's £3k at the moment (looking at auction results) and a few have gone for less than that. That's a drop of a grand in a week or so (probably due to crimbo etc) but it's an observation based on FACT (as you so often like to say)

Its 19 editions. Simple as that, otherwise they would have been numbered out of 500 odd if they were all one edition. Why is that so hard to understand.
Fair enough, but i think you will be lucky to get these under 2.3k ish on a good day, thats if you but one now...otherwise it could be a long wait. Its not scaremongering as i have no reason to do that, its just stating the truth from a neutral perspective

Yeah, I don't think under £2.5k will happen. Around £3k at the moment, one at £2.8K.....heading in the right direction for me (as a buyer). Maybe it's all up from here?
We'll see.

well, loads sold for £4k and a week later a very similar amount have sold for £3k.
That's quite a drop. (I think you're right with the shill bidding thing though)

It's not hard to understand, they are indeed numbered out of 25, but there are so many variants of the image that I like the look off, that the low number doesn't come into it (for me)

4k even 5k is pretty cheap for a Banksy edition of 25 even 58 for that matter.

Banksy • Choose Your Weapon, GREY Queue Jumping, by manty on Dec 26, 2010 11:56:20 GMT 1, it will never be worth 10k ......... ..i wouldnt sell anyway ....sorry slip of thte wrist """grin reaper" like i say £4K gets you a lot classy banksy .................. grannies to start with and j and j plus a few more on auctionsaboteur for example !!!
Oh I don't know about the Grin Reaper not making £10k, someone with a very heavy influence within this scene was telling me that there are some very heavy collectors getting involved and any pre LA prints should be start to fetch well over £10k in the next year.
He also said anything post LA with the exception of Nola would be worth around £2k ;D
Now where's that tongue in cheek symbol

Banksy • Choose Your Weapon, GREY Queue Jumping, by colinfishwick on Dec 26, 2010 13:02:58 GMT 1, because if its grey your after 100 from pow 58 q jump in and 25 slate ... plenty of grey shades about plenty will be on the bay after x mas when all the fools have spent far to much money !!! on x mas !!!
the 25 slate are not Grey mate, not even close. they are green/blue like a westmorland slate, not grey/blue like a welsh slate
if i was hyping then i'd say that there aren't any other colours in the edition close to slate but i'm not, so i won't.
£2.5k is about right for a grey IMHO, maybe a touch more for the others but the demand seems to outweigh supply right now so it's really a seller's market unfortunately - this can soon change though so i'd say be patient to anyone buying......
