We have had someone waits for delivery in the past from them. Trolleys comes to mind. We will speculate right up till POW tell us then we'll be put out of our misery

I was there yesterday and they said they were really up against it in trying to get everything printed for this week and next week shows. So i'd imagine delivery of alot of stuff may be after xmas?!

Banksy • Choose Your Weapon Print, by bullet on Nov 28, 2010 16:09:31 GMT 1, Im going to say 1 thing about the whole debate on lining up for this... And i hope POW take note.
What message does it give out to people where you make the queue up overnight in minus degrees cold and possibly snow. How can you humanely make people do that, it might seem a bit of fun but if someone ends up getting hypothermia or worse then they will be held accountable for things. They get around it by not mentioning the fact you 'have' to line up, so therefore its your choice. But they have security so they know full well people are going to do that.
Plus is banksy really that low to make people wait to get his print in dangerous conditions. Is he actually sitting in his nice warm house in west london rubbing his hands together at the prospect of seeing little minion people clamber for his work by freezing their asses off overnight. Its quite sordid.
I think the POW banksy page has been cleaned out for a reason and lets hope they see sense. If you are willing to put your health and sanity at danger as well as kissing the feet of a man who paints pretty pictures. Then please take a long hard look at yourselves. Im pretty confident no one loves the image that much.. Cartrain could have done this image or anyother person and there would be no queue and no matter how you polish it, your lining up to make a buck as thats what limited edition is about
If banksy made this an open edition but signed then i very much doubt people would be as excited. If therres one thing ive learned, its that people look at the number, the image then if its signed. In that order.
Are POW and banksy really that heartless? I think not but they may prove me wrong and if they do make people line up like peasants then they will go down in my estimation.

Banksy • Choose Your Weapon Print, by leumasdarnley on Nov 28, 2010 16:13:30 GMT 1, When have they said it will be an in store sale? I think there are a lot of assumptions going on. POW has come a long way on releases but with communication still not great. I know they are damned if they do or damned if they don't but a little info would save a lot of time.

The problem is they are going to sell out whatever happens, so from POWs point the best marketing and exposure for them is to have a huge Q outside their shop, it makes all the papers and the news, and everyone thinks he must be the dogs bollocks if people are willing to Q for 24 hours in the snow.
Banksy comes out on top..
If they just released it on the website, unless you gave a shit who banksy was, or was a flipper you wouldnt know.
Its just a big marketing exercise. It will be a Q job, im certain of it.

Well if they do, they have no morals. They can donate all they like to charity, but to make people queue overnight in december is so morally wrong its verging on criminal.
They will be known as COW after that, and im not even going to mention what the c stands for. Of course they may prove all this wrong by doing the sensible thing.

Banksy • Choose Your Weapon Print, by jamo on Nov 28, 2010 16:34:53 GMT 1, Good point well made Freerange. It would be a cold, heartless business that made people queue up in the frezzing cold. Even if they don't tell people directly to queue.....
It's nice that POW allow overseas buyers to have an edition to themselves via tinternet (NBG), but it's a bit unfair if his largest army of fans have to brave the British winter for the UK version.
I wouldn't queue for 3 reasons:
1. I have a family and life 2. I don't much relish the thought of being on themean streets of the capital overnight 3. I don't have thermals
Let the F5 battle commence.....

Banksy • Choose Your Weapon Print, by curiousgeorge on Nov 28, 2010 17:09:20 GMT 1, Ask any genuine Banksy fan who went to the NBG queue, i think most if not all would say they enjoyed the 'experience'
Not really that subtle a dig at a gallery, which I'm sure is against the rules
Do the RCA have people queue up as well? no fire and brimstone for them
In reality it will probably be 3-4 degrees colder than NBG, and anyway a wise man once told me "No such thing as bad weather only bad clothing"
You obviously have a big heart jboy one day i hope you find a cause that deserves it's attention
Edit last year a forum member had to strip off inside his sleeping bag as it was so effective(obviously not a £9.99 one)

Banksy • Choose Your Weapon Print, by ksedge on Nov 28, 2010 17:12:23 GMT 1, i'm going to jump in here and disagree with freerange.
nobody is "making" anyone do anything. if people want to cue in the freezing cold, that's their decision, and it's the craziest (most eager) of them all that starts the cue at whatever time they show up. nothing stopping anyone from just showing up at 6am, 7am, 8am or whatever other than the crazy one that lines up first.
i don't think POW should feel any remorse for doing an in-store release - it's their right. it's not their fault half of us are crazy and will line up in the cold to try and get one. heck, there are a lot of homeless people out there in this weather not waiting for a print.
this stuff happens all the time - there were line ups all night just the other day in the US for Black Friday. girls line up over night for wedding dresses. people sleep out for concert tickets. are those stores and bands all heartless too?
i for one would grab my thermals and -10 sleeping bag if i wasn't here in canada. heck, it would be just like camping in the spring in the mountains!
there's my 2 cents - thanks for letting me share.

Banksy • Choose Your Weapon Print, by Lunch Special on Nov 28, 2010 17:37:17 GMT 1, i'm going to jump in here and disagree with freerange. i don't think POW should feel any remorse for doing an in-store release....... .......this stuff happens all the time - there were line ups all night just the other day in the US for Black Friday. girls line up over night for wedding dresses. people sleep out for concert tickets. are those stores and bands all heartless too? there's my 2 cents - thanks for letting me share.
Great post and soooooo sooooooo true.....

I'm considering the queue if it becomes an option - only because I actually love the image and I can't afford the second hand market, and if I do and get lucky then it will be framed and kept.

Banksy • Choose Your Weapon Print, by Martin M on Nov 28, 2010 17:43:26 GMT 1, Crikey! A few years back my mum and her buddies (all 55+) camped out all night long in the freezing cold just to get hold of a ruddy Daniel O'Donnell concert ticket. Get a bloody grip people!

Funny you mention Daniel O`donnel, when we were queuing for the RCA postcard sale last week (in the freezing cold and voluntarily) there was a tiny queue of older folk across the way outside the Albert Hall - Daniel O`donnel tickets!!!
I will be down at POW for the queue if there is one, i hope its in SOHO as last years queue got a bit hairy during the small hours - preachers, fights, does anyone remember the drunk midgets!. anyhow I now have a nice NBG framed in my kids room. And i think everyone last year had a good time and were in good spirits, met a nice bunch of people along the way. Its all voluntary, i think last year one fella came from the states to queue.

Banksy • Choose Your Weapon Print, by Standard on Nov 28, 2010 17:44:37 GMT 1, ....I'm sure I read on here about the last time, that some people had hired others to queue up and purchase so that they could get multiple copies to flip?
