That guy with the dog does not have any Romany or Irish Travelling blood in him. He is for want of better words one of the British Youth of Today, aka the Chav (CHV or Council House Vermin). . isnt that also racist

Banksy • Choose Your Weapon Print, by mouk on Dec 13, 2010 22:51:58 GMT 1, As long as Voina cause cruelty to animals in the name of art they deserve to be locked up and I hope the Russian Police give them a few slaps. Throwing cats in restaurants is not big and is not clever. That loony bin lady who put a cat in the bin was vilified. So should these Russian jerks. Big winkles on bridges is funny, animal cruelty is not. I hope they rot and drop their soap in the prison shower. They call this sick act art? I assume you're a vegetarian and animal lover? There's a world out there and it's not ideal and 'cosy' - Banksy sticks a mohican on Churchill but that's art and no one's offended right? He's got a family and a legacy (although his contribution was perhaps more based around rhetoric?). Voina use a cat and everyone's up in arms? I was in a japanese restaurant once with clients and they filleted a live fish in front of me and ate sushi whilst the bugger was thrashing around...given the choice, I'd be the cat.
That was vandalism and he was a p*ick for doing it. If i knew where Banksy live then I would love to urinate in his letter box and kick the heads off of his garden gnomes and then draw 53 on the bonnet of his car.

Banksy • Choose Your Weapon Print, by bert on Dec 13, 2010 22:52:48 GMT 1, .so all they really did was ensure they were still in the running for a print after people who were not in the initial 170 jumped in from nowhere at all points of the night.
Justify it however you like, but the fact is by queue jumping, those peeps deprived other fair minded people of a print. Whether you're a forum member with 3000 posts who thinks they deserve a Banksy as they're such a giant fan or a geezer with a dog on a rope out to make £2k, it's still shitty behaviour IMO.

Banksy • Choose Your Weapon Print, by jakek on Dec 13, 2010 22:54:05 GMT 1, I think I have been shifted into another dimension Earlier people were talking about what a nightmare things were at Berwick Street and POW some very sad and scary stories of people doing everything right but being cheated by bad planning on POW's part and thuggery of others Now everything seems to have changed It was all ok, coz after all the fights and and queue jumping the righteous people fought their way to the front and stole the prints from under the noses of the flippers! I'm sure Banksy is proud of you Congratulations I feel sick
Now you're being a bit over dramatic. I know you might not like what people have done but i wouldn't go around being all judgemental about it...
And as for Banksy being proud - i'm sure he'll consider it as much of an honour as his forthcoming Urban Art Award...

Banksy • Choose Your Weapon Print, by mmmike on Dec 13, 2010 22:54:41 GMT 1, If this is true Voina is a bunch of cowards and they can stick this charity up where the sun don´t shine. Banksy pledges £80,000 to Russian radical art group Voinaguardian.co.uk, Sunday 12 December 2010 17.44 GMT Proceeds of Banksy print sale will go to Voina collective, two of whom are awaiting trial over anti-corruption protest Voina's exploits have included throwing cats at McDonald's workers 'to alleviate their boredom'. Photograph: Thomas Peter/Reuters Oleg Vorotnikov, 35, and Leonid Nikolayev, 27, were detained in Moscow last month and charged in connection with an anti-corruption protest called Palace Revolution in St Petersburg in September, when members of Voina overturned several police cars in the centre of the city. They could face up to seven years in prison. Police claim the group caused thousands of pounds worth of damage, but Russia's tight-knit art community has called for their release, saying the charges are excessive. Voina has directed many of its actions at state officials and politicians, saying they are part of a war for the "destruction of outdated repressive-patriarchal socio-political symbols and ideologies". Alexei Plutser-Sarno, Voina's chief ideologue, told the Guardian that Banksy had contacted the group after hearing about the imprisoned pair. "We're very grateful for his support," he said. "Banksy's help will attract the attention of the whole world to the personal repression aimed at us, as well as to the greater problem of liquidation of democracy in Russia." Plutser-Sarno fled from Russia to Estonia last month, claiming he had information that police were about to arrest him. He claimed that Vorotnikov and Nikolayev had plastic bags placed over their heads when they were arrested and police kicked them in the head and kidneys as they lay on the floor of a vehicle. Voina carried out one of its most scandalous acts in June when members painted a 65-metre erect p***s on a drawbridge in St Petersburg. When raised, the decoration faced the city headquarters of the FSB, the federal security service. Two years ago, members of Voina staged an orgy in Moscow's state biological museum under a banner reading "f**k for the heir, Little Bear". Dmitry Medvedev, now Russian president, whose surname comes from the Russian word for bear, was to stand in elections a few days later and was widely seen as the anointed successor of Vladimir Putin, now prime minister. In other exploits, Voina members have thrown cats at McDonald's workers to "alleviate their boredom" and staged mock hangings of homosexuals in criticism of remarks made by Moscow's former mayor, Yuri Luzhkov, that gay pride marches were "satanic". Banksy, who could not be reached for comment, may feel that Voina's mischievous and politically cutting street art chimes with his own efforts, such as hanging spoof masters at Tate Britain and painting graffiti on the West Bank separation wall. "Some people become cops because they want to make the world a better place," he once wrote. "Some people become vandals because they want to make the world a better looking place." www.guardian.co.uk/artanddesign/2010/dec/12/banksy-russia-voina-donationRead more: THESE RUSSIAN GUYS ARE SCUM. ANY MAN WHO DOES THAT TO ANIMALS DOES NOT DESERVE CHARITY OF ANY SORT.
Animal cruelty like this is inexcusable.

Banksy • Choose Your Weapon Print, by manty on Dec 13, 2010 22:55:38 GMT 1, This print is a great statement about the inbreds that drag these muts around to intimidate Not really, more like a great statement that art can inpower the disadvantaged; that they don't have to rock a stupid staff, they can paint, rap, sing, write, direct... create!! Art can lift them from there anti social surroundings. The welfare state and funding for the arts are being violently slashed by cabal of multi-millionaires, this will in turn breed more anti social behavior, more alienation and more dumbos with dogs. Actually not Banksy. It was the Churchill Statue by some artist apparently aerofish?
I was there, it was for Mayday 2000.
A protest called something like "reclaim the streets" or smthin like that. It all started peacefully with people taking off all the grass from parliament square and planting flowers and cannabis seeds (explaining the TURF WAR), also a protest against capitalism.
Banksy did say it's one of the greatest piece of art he'd witnessed and inspired him.
Then it all went tits up with police, people breaking into the nearby macdonalds, stealing uniform and caps from Mcdonalds, etc... I then went to a squat party in Hackney wick on Carpenters road and all these scumbags were there, going "yeah! We f**k em lot today" all wearing macdonald caps....
OK...I think I might leave the party.........

Banksy • Choose Your Weapon Print, by daddychaps on Dec 13, 2010 23:05:08 GMT 1, Queue jumping is inexcusable! And most of us down there were actively trying to prevent it!
90% of the people I met on the night were real fans, and trying their best to hold order in the queue.
There are loads of forum members on here who were in the queue, got a print and didnt push in. Dont tarnish all with a select minority!
There was a good atmosphere of people looking out for each other. And yes, there were a load of touts (many who got there well before the 'real fans'). But... You cant throw someone out of a queue who got there before you just because he is a tout... he has every right to be there as I did, 3000 post members do or Banksys mum (if she was there) does.
