Banksy • Choose Your Weapon Print, by jamo on Dec 15, 2010 16:14:12 GMT 1, Thanks Cisco Kid. The NBG was done by Bramley's. I normally get my prints float mounted but thought this would be better under a double mount, the first being about 8-10mm thick foam board to really give some depth to the print / frame.

Banksy • Choose Your Weapon Print, by tonysantos2001 on Dec 15, 2010 17:21:31 GMT 1, Oh the joys of the internet..... If i lost fair and square i would not be complaining, i don't have a Nola or Donuts and never had an issue with that, the reason i do not have a CYW is because i chose not to behave like an animal. I have a NBG hanging on my wall which was a great experience for me, this was just a disgusting experience which ever way you look at it. No POW are not reponsible for people acting like thugs but they could have made at least half an effort. Tickets, barriers, up to date information, staff about even if it was just to observe take photos etc. Name me one instance of POW making even the slightest effort on this release? grow a pair will you and stop banging on like you are some sort of victim. The reason you dont have a CYW is because you didnt push back, you let these people take the proverbial out of you and because you did, you blame POW for it. If you scored you wouldnt be moaning thats for sure - funny how the ones who did, arent complaining, while those who didnt are. POW always have made an effort - just not to your expected high standards. you lucked out - go and help out in a soup kitchen or do some volunteer work to help the homeless over christmas, then you will realise how lucky you really are.

Frustrating though it is - POW have no option to not fulfill the order even if someones got it up for sale. They've entered in to a legally binding contract (if they've taken payment) and nowhere in their terms does it say you can't resell it

From the POW Terms page:
Secondary Market: In an effort to sell art to people who want it, rather than people who want to make a profit on it, Picturesonwalls reserves the right to refund any person who advertises their print for sale prior to them being in receipt of said print. For the avoidance of doubt, we deem the contract between seller & buyer to have been made at the point the print leaves our premises and not the point of payment.
If a print is offered for sale on the Secondary market after receipt, then Picturesonwalls reserve the right to no longer fulfil any orders to that customer.

Would contract law over run the sales of goods act?

Ah ok - learn something new every day
Wouldn't stand up in law though - consideration (ie payment) confirms the contract and sadly the terms above would not be considered 'reasonable' in law.
Be interesting to see if they ever exercise this right

Banksy • Choose Your Weapon Print, by Phat Spider on Dec 15, 2010 19:44:52 GMT 1, Would contract law over run the sales of goods act? From what I understand, paying has always only meant offering money in return of goods or service, and it's up to the seller to decide whether to accept the offer or not from the buyer. In this case, POW have clearly stated that until they actually send the print out, they have the rights to turn down the offer.
Not quite
The offer would be POW advrtising it for sale (or in the case sending you an email).
The acceptance would be you (the customer) placing an order via the link in the mail
And the consideration that seals the contract is the payment - if its taken then in law they'd not be able to wriggle out of it.

I looked very closely on Saturday and without doubt the black outline of the dog was hand done. Even the white inner part looked hand painted.

There is a line under the image aswell which the normal run dont have. That would be a nice surprise if someone did get it in the lottery.
