Banksy • Choose Your Weapon Print, by melmoth on Dec 10, 2010 16:05:27 GMT 1, All this hype reminds me of the good ol' days of Santa's Ghetto in Bethlehem and the corresponding online store... it takes me back to 2007 and the constant F5ing, only to be met one lunchtime with the 'ADD TO CART' button on the Banksy Stop & Search. In those days I was able to open 3 seperate browsers and proceed to purchase 3 of them in the 20 second window... Man I wish those days would return.
Stop, I'll start tearing up.

This would really piss me off ... if I hadn't of picked up six of the buggers by doing exactly the same

Banksy • Choose Your Weapon Print, by naughtyshorty on Dec 10, 2010 16:22:24 GMT 1, Ha ha! That cardboard was pants!!! My top tip is a nice office chair to wheel yourself along on. Can't go wrong with that!!! Hello naughty how are you? Hope to see you again in this years queue. Already packed and better equipped this year. Sleeping bag and camping chair, all ready, with me thermals and woolies. That cardboard box last year was a waste of time. Bring it on

Banksy • Choose Your Weapon Print, by yapsey on Dec 10, 2010 16:33:15 GMT 1, what i can never understand is why they don't go -
"it's coming out on .... (such and such a date), but we're not telling you where until 24hrs prior the date"
this would give everyone time to book time off work and pencil it in the diary etc etc.....

Banksy • Choose Your Weapon Print, by artsmybag on Dec 10, 2010 16:35:22 GMT 1, In a few years this print will be way down the wants list alongside Morons or Grannies. If it wasn't Banksy's only release for a year it wouldn't get half the attention it's getting now.
Utter tosh...
If banksy released two prints this year then there would have been double the attention....

Banksy • Choose Your Weapon Print, by tonysantos2001 on Dec 10, 2010 16:36:07 GMT 1, I don't deprive ANYBODY making money but I think that it's a real shame that there are people out there, ok I'm gonna say it, SCUM! that are taking advantage of other people and depriving them of something that some people genuinely want and would get years of enjoyment out of. I like the idea that somebody posted up that P.O.W. should hold back on the C.O.A.s for a few years, but then again most flippers are pros at this type of thing so wouldn't effect them in the slightest.
It genuinely saddens me to think of the amount of prints, not just by Banksy but by other artists that are stored away in a folio somewhere when there are average hard working folk like myself who have to struggle to save to have enough to buy one print, never mind a signed one!
Like I said, fair enough if you're gonna make a few quid but not like this guys and ESPECIALLY not when it's for charity! Mind you, all that said I know that it's falling on deaf ears as people like that have no morals, as long as they're alright FXXK the rest of them.
that said
Best of luck to all the genuine fans out there and hopefully I'll be able to join you in owning my very first Banksy that I'll enjoy for years to come!

Banksy • Choose Your Weapon Print, by jones27 on Dec 10, 2010 16:44:37 GMT 1, Tony it genuinely saddens me that I cannot swap my Ian Francis Death Star (same money at cost) for a Banksy, but hey ho thats life. Most people who buys the forthcoming print will at some point in their life sell it for considerable more. If POW sell at below market value then the consequences are obvious. And before you say - Im keep mine (for the foreseeable)

Wouldn't make it to 57 pages on here then though would it.
Or then they announce, wait for it... that it is released somewhere outside London and the forum goes into meltdown because all of the Londoners have booked the day off work and are upset.
Also, as soon as you have that level of commitment from people (days booked, flights booked etc) then it could get nasty in the queue, wherever that may be.

Banksy • Choose Your Weapon Print, by burger on Dec 10, 2010 16:51:59 GMT 1, It's been said hundreds of times before - flippers/SCUM make the secondary market which allows those unfortunate souls like myself to have a chance of buying work that i was never going to win in an online lottery or i couldn't queue up for.
I would love to know how many people would buy his art if the minute you walked out the door it was worth a £1?
There are die hard collectors who might not care but the majority of us like to know that whats hanging on the wall was worth the night on the street.
I hope you get your hands on a print - good luck.
