Banksy • Choose Your Weapon Print, by Deleted on Dec 11, 2010 14:43:05 GMT 1, so let me get this clear from reading through this thread for those who scored POW did an amazing job - and a huge big thanks to them? For those that lost out, didn't get down to the queue in time or couldn't be bothered or were expecting this print to simply fall in to their laps - POW are scum of the earth or are badly managed?
Its a limited edition print - its first come first served basis - doesnt matter if it meant queuing up or F5ing - no pleasing everyone.

NO, when i got to the Q i was 145 ish, and would have scored one. by 5am i was over 200 and by the time the security came there was no Q at all, it was a scrum, and I had no chance.
If there was a proper Q, with no pushing in and civilized people, i would be sitting with a print in my hand.

Banksy • Choose Your Weapon Print, by fuzzed on Dec 11, 2010 14:50:12 GMT 1, Sorry to hear about the queue, I had no chance of getting to London. After missing NBG last year I always thought I'd try and make it if they released a print from the store again but unfortunately too busy. In the lottery though, fingers crossed, I do really like this print

Banksy • Choose Your Weapon Print, by twinkle on Dec 11, 2010 14:53:30 GMT 1, Grafik describes it exactly as it was. It was a terrible example of how human nature rules everything.... Disgusting.
I was about 90th at the start and did manage to get a print, 14 hours later (including the Soho shambles), 133rd in line....
Sorry you missed out Grafik, you like many others deserved so much better. When I say the guys the at the front were scum, I mean they were human effluent. Nasty, dodgy and organised to make a mockery of the whole thing.
I can only think of the irony of this print's subject matter, the majority of homes it has ended up in, was what Banksy had in mind completely....

says on ebay it went for best offer of £3K sounds about right

I have manners and i'm not prepared to lower myself to being an animal, fighting, throwing bottles, crushing girls who were crying, for a bit of paper.
I couldn't live with myself looking at someone behind me I pushed infront of.

to be fair i spoke to Simon and he wasn't at all happy, he said it was fucked and POW had fucked up,
And that he couldn't do this again, he seemed truly upset that it had come to this.

Banksy • Choose Your Weapon Print, by Deleted on Dec 11, 2010 15:03:32 GMT 1, then you should have pushed back - they wanted the print more and were prepared to be uncivilised about it. Cant say I agree with you there.. Does wanting it more give people carte blanche to do what the hell they want? By that logic, if someone had broken into POW and helped themselves to the prints, then they would have wanted it even more than anyone.. What about mugging someone walking away with a tube? or assaulting someone? They wanted it more too... Hell, I have a Keith Haring original- i want it more than any of you f**kers...
what you are citing are illegal acts - what the queue jumpers did, was just plain rude - and those who took exception to it, rather than accepting it, should have stood up to them. Would, if you queued up, let that happen to you? I certainly wouldn't have.
What this all reminds me of is, the Micallef Impure Idols release, when the animal instincts in others come to the fore.

There was still a queue and hour or so later. Did think about joining since it wasnt too big and looked like there were different people queuing.

True... I hate confrontation, but have no qualms telling someone (politely!) to do one if they skip the line in front of me- be it in tesco, or in a taxi line or an airport. However, if that happens 50 or 100 people in front of you, and involves violence/fighting (also illegal acts technically) then there is very little you can do about it really...
Just compared to last yr when there was security, and to the line for the silver flag on oxford st (i was #9 in line for that from midnite and was very good natured and friendly) its a bit of a mess. As the value goes up, so does the greed & the bullshit that comes with it unfortunately...which tends to bring out the worst in people

The way most of the Q jumping was happening was people either going to be with big groups of friends further up the Q, or just big groups pushing in. this was before 5am.
After 5am there was no Q, it was a scrum, 15 wide, noone could tell what was going on.
Im not the biggest of guys, and i'm not risking getting beaten up for confronting a Q jumper and his group of friends, its not worth that much to me,
