Takashi Murakami Paints Self-Portraits (pictures), by glltn on Sept 15, 2009 23:06:10 GMT 1, Takashi Murakami's new solo show, Takashi Murakami Paints Self-Portraits, officially opened today at Galerie Emmanuel Perrotin in Paris! The exhibition brings together seventeen paintings, including three monumental works, five sculptures and two films!
For the first time, a set of self-portraits will be exhibited, featuring the artist accompanied by his favorite creatures, including his alter-ego Mr. DOB, whose
ambivalent personality shifts from friendly to fierce under the effects of โmagic mushrooms.โ

- so unless it came and went in a second I'd be suprised if there was a print of the self portraits yet..... there are two new 2009 prints up there though.
would love to be proved wrong (i'd love one)

Best to trawl for pics of anything you are interested in. |

Now I don't buy art to make money but I don't want to buy one of these to see them half their value on the secondary market.

Seems to me they mostly sell for ยฃ700 - ยฃ1000.

And Murakami prints have already crashed, some of the large dob prints used to sell for $4000 at auction and now are a struggle to reach 1/3rd that. Murakami has already released about 2000 to 3000 new prints just this year, he's worse than Hirst. |
