David Walker ๐ฌ๐ง Street Art Portraits โข Graffiti Portrait, by s-editions on Jun 27, 2008 17:52:03 GMT 1, 
This ethereal beauty was painted after David Walker snapped his friend Annika on a mobile phone in the early hours of the morning in London's Hoxton Square after a night out clubbing. The original painting was made in spray paint, pencil & marker pen on canvas. It was a big hit at our Babylon Academy show in Berlin www.babylonacademy.com and quickly sold.
David Walker is a member of the Scrawl Collective www.scrawlcollective.co.uk. Today s-editions signed an exclusive representation deal with David for his original works. We will now also look after the majority of his editions, although he will retain his links with the Scrawl Collective and will contribute to their shows.
To celebrate our signing of David 'Annika - Hoxton Square' has been made available as a strictly limited edition of 10 hand finished pigment prints on canvas with tulip wood stretcher. Due to the nature of hand finishing each in the edition will differ and have unique features.

An auction house asked us to authenticate one of his works this week, so it seems that Mr Walker's star is in the ascendent...

First off for your delectation, a stunning portrait by RYCA. He was idly playing with the rubber stamp he uses for tagging stickers and came up with this! Outstanding! This is a unique original work on acid free cartridge paper, not a print edition:
RYCA's 'Evolution Stops Here' print has now been released. It is a 4 colour screen print with fluorescent & reflective inks and hand finishing on Arches. Featuring Charlie Darwin and a bunch of knife-wielding hoodies, we think it makes a powerful comment on the state of the streets of London today. Edition of 33:
Argentinean collage artist supreme, Manuel Duboe, has just finished preparing his 'Year Zero' print with us. It is a pigment print with black and reflective silver inks screened on top, with hand sprayed gold on Somerset 300 gsm paper stock. Simply stunning! Edition of 33:
dr.d has finished a very small edition of 'Osama Holiday' prints. An original piece featuring this image did very well at the recent Dreweatts urban art auction, and dr.d has prepared this print in response to requests to make a print edition. Edition of 5 on Somerset 300 gsm paper stock:

Last, but most certainly not least, is Twigger & Baker's 'Jesus Head' sculptural edition. Hand screened box, hand screened hand finished leaflet, hand screened tissue paper, hand cast ceramic sculpture, glass paint bottle and syringe - everything you need to put this little beauty up in your home or in your hometown. Edition of 33 (11 pink boxes, 11 blue boxes, 11 green boxes):

It is Napoleon Dynamite  . What can we say? The boy loves films!

We are getting lots of enquiries about David Walker, so thought a quick update might be helpful.
The joint show David did with RYCA and Hutch at Cosh in Soho has now finished. However, there is work to be seen at the Dreweatts Urban Art auction (sale is tomorrow) and new paintings will be unveiled at the Opus 'Kounter Kulture' show at the Truman Brewery in Brick Lane (also tomorrow).
David also has work on the Opus Underground site at www.opusunderground.com/artists/DavidWalker.
He is working on a bunch of commissions at the moment, so if anybody wants to get their name down for a commission before the list gets too full and has to be closed for a while we would recommend that you get in touch soon.
As for shows, David is currently lined up for shows in London, Philadelphia and Buenos Aries.
It looks like a busy year ahead!
