I know mate. As a non-owner, I am just looking forward to all the cyw talk dying down a bit. What's it worth, who was in the Q, who's fliiped it, how it compares to older prints, what's the best colour, which has sold the most, how big is the edition, etc...

I do like seeing the framed pics though.

All I'm trying to do here is swap one piece of paper for another - I don't care about profit and I'm not ashamed to be considering selling this if it means I can get something on the wall that I've wanted for a long time. Art is my addiction, and I have no need to try and profit from it as I get enough enjoyment from having art on the wall, not trying to make a quick buck

not sure what they're hoping for, is it actually up for sale or just there to try and snare the desperate and/or deluded in to buying it? - and in the process immediately raising the ceiling price for a given piece and therefore in theory all the perceived more desirable prints that go for more historically?!!
i'm worried for people coming to the scene and seeing these and falling in to the trap, those with long memories will remember seeing a Micallef JD up on ebay for ages with a staggeringly high BIN of ยฃ2500! well after a while someone (Cauty wannabe Mr H) went and bought it as they were a bit flush and didn't want to wait around for a better deal - this brought about the whole, entire bubble around the Micallef market that went crazy that summer, right up until Mr Lazarides went and devalued his stock almost completely.........
not everyone was around then and newcomers certainly won't be, i find it a little wrong to appear to be taking advantage of such ignorance?
the claim on the CYW listing that "I will only consider offers over ยฃ4k as I would rather hold onto this than sell below this price as I have no doubt this will be a future classic" - you cannot sell things on potential mate, it has a value today and you are selling it today - not in the future!!

i should just clarify that my post was intended as a general point if people wished to discuss it rather than any kind of judgement on Hlarmy, i should really have made any relevant comments and either moved on or started a new thread about my thoughts on perceived over optimistic asking prices.

Many people know Hlarmy, so i can't see him getting too much abuse. He is no serial flipper. A top bloke in fact. POW may call it differently
i also know where your coming from, but I didn't see POW making any attempt to takle the blatent gangs, no doubt all being paid by one or two people. in fact no POW security until 7amish. by then some bloke had his head kicked in by 4 people in the queue. I slept through all the troubles.
From reports I have had there were several gangs of 10 people at least. This must surely far outway one decent bloke trying to buy the print of his dreams, maybe the only chance he'll ever get. One Banksy for another personally more desirable print. I could take that if i was POW, after just making a few quid.
i'd take up the job of security next year and sort the queue jumping etc no problem. All I'd want is the opportunity to buy a print, unless i didn't like it and then they could pay me. i know a couple of good guys who be the Banksy style security 'Polite' but firm if needed.
