Basically there's going to be more unhappy people than happy people whatever way they sold it, at least the way it was sold made sure that 40 people who wanted it didn't have to pay over the odds on ebay.

Yeah you're right, it's never gonna be a 100% fair way to distribute the prints, but... geez, if only the edition size was larger! I probably still wouldn't stand a chance 'cos I'm stuck all the way here in crummy Los Angeles though...

I seriously wouldn't mind that!! I'm crazy about the image, not the 'limited edition/investment' crap. Sums up perfectly where I think mankind is headed - we've evolved a long way, and now that we've arrived at the top of the pyramid, instead of evolving even further, we're finding ways to wipe each other out with our 'advanced-ness' (e.g., politics, religion, ego/ethno-centrism, etc.)... defeating the whole purpose of evolution as a mechanism of survival and perpetuation.
I've always had that thought, but Mantis just put everything together in one succinct, witty and humorous image. Bloody genius IMHO.
But anyway, I'm searching for Mr. Nice Person! ;D

All depends on the holder of the money and whether it is purchased for its scarcity value or love of the image. I know which print i would rather have on my wall and thats from the edition of 40!
