Banksy Street Art in Los Angeles, by Deleted on Feb 16, 2011 11:07:16 GMT 1, Actually, he is a nice guy.
I am pleased.
But that still doesn't excuse the relentless nature of everything we see or do being attached to f***in' 'celebrities' and using them as a measurement of 'success'. If I want to see and read about these people I'll buy a magazine.

He's a UK TV chef and long time Banksy buddy/collector.

Here he is at Banksy's Turf War show back in 2003:

So celebrities are not allowed to be fans of Banksy like everyone else?

Pretty sure there was no mention of celebrity's not being allowed to be fans, Its more the fact that the whole nature of "celebrity" within todays society, being used as a measure of success, which i find a very sad state to be in.

How do you get that from a photo of jamie oliver? Most of them have been fans of Banksy stuff before half the people on here.
This whole thing about Banksy being some sort of anarchist needs to stop as its now for the masses. Things just move on... just enjoy it.

I didnt get it from the picture i was just saying how i understand Seans comments, I actually like Jamie Oliver, but i also understand that as a society we are obsessed by celebrity, thats all i am saying. Mr Oliver was into Banksy wayyyy before me, doesnt change my mind about the role celebrity plays in our society today though,
Also i dont see Banksy as an anarchist far from it, he puts up images that are for the masses and can be liked understood by every person reguardless of status, culture or and social group you may fit into. To me this makes him more main stream than allot of Street artist whos work is only appreicaited by a certain few. Im pretty sure the main collectors of his work today are far from anarchist in fact more than lilky have jobs in offices wear suits and live a comfortable life style.

Banksy Street Art in Los Angeles, by mmmike on Feb 16, 2011 13:49:21 GMT 1, I read that the women from the Hills TV show "found" one of the LA Banksys. It also said that banksys PR team was messaging celebs to let them know they were there to get press out of the works.
Seems a bit desperate but I guess that is all part of the game.
