A lot of them are sprayed over the print itself. So he sprayed after printing.

Look at the coppers left ear it clearly gives the impression that this was sprayed before printing, there is very faint red that buts right up to the earlobe. Are you saying he masked the image after printing and then oversprayed? All the oversprayed ones I have seen go over the top of the image. What paper is used? Must be very thin for spray paint to go through like that?

Clearly it has been printed then sprayed as you can see overlap of the red on the print on the front. I would imagine the red dot you refer to on the reverse that does not appear on the front is because its been set down on a surface that had some spray paint on it and it has not bleed through to the front. I have seen dozen of Bast and Faile prints with paint on the reverse that does not equate to the front.
It is an absolute beauty and if I had not bought a RR and a Kaws og recently I would have this in an instant. Love it.

The quality of the paper used for the rude coppers is no secret!
The spray is also very thick
As others have said, standard print was taken and then sprayed over, using some sort of crude mask over the face.
