Banksy • Rude Copper Print • 2003, by Deleted on Mar 6, 2007 20:31:04 GMT 1, My brother bought it for me for £30 as a birthday present. I think he said that he got it from banksy's unofficial shop (he said Banksy's mum sold it to him). He got himself the 'Have a nice day' print (possibly signed i can't remember). He's also got a load of prints in his bar in Bristol, Jamie Hewitt? and some others.
Sorry not particularly clued up on this type of thing, but have been a Banksy fan since he got me this print five years ago.

Banksy • Rude Copper Print • 2003, by notitle on May 18, 2007 1:18:16 GMT 1, shite, looks like this one's officially out of my reach now.
can't remember what the last unsigned went for on ebay, but i think 4k is a bit steep? saying that it'll probably go for 8 now!
looks legit, probably just signed up to ebay for the purpose of selling the print.

I doubt he would volunteer picking it up in person as an option if he was up to something. I would love to have it but I have my eye on a Hirst and that will take up this months allowance... Good luck to whomever is going to have a try for this one, its a beauty!

i can't remeber where exactly but one of the galleries has/had one for £2.5k, gutted!

Banksy • Rude Copper Print • 2003, by carl on May 24, 2007 22:23:58 GMT 1, The seller emailed me to confirm that it wasnt signed and justified the signed box being ticked as it had ''the red banksy tag'' . I asked for provenance and he informed me that if someone should bid on this and win he would be able to get a letter from steve confirming when he purchased it. But 4K, just buy one from a gallery AND treat yourself to a nice frame and a holiday!

Banksy • Rude Copper Print • 2003, by Zippy on May 24, 2007 23:09:01 GMT 1, true. and you'd feel much happier when looking at in on your wall knowing it came with provenance. I'm suprised someone would genuinely pay 4k and not know 100% if it is real. I know they say 'theres one born every minute' but with this forum, someone only has to drop by and ask a few questions befroe bidding. Z PS. I'm feeling the negative vibes tonight!

Banksy • Rude Copper Print • 2003, by tomhills1 on May 25, 2007 17:48:02 GMT 1, can i just make a point of apologising publicly to bird-box-sniper who i referred to as 'birdbrain'. i didn't mean to cause offence to him or represent him in a way that might appear dorogotry. i'm sorry for any suffering caused.
just to add it is entirely up to you what you do and how you spend your money and i'm entitled to comment but i will try not to get personal next time.
hope there's no hard feelings.
all the best, tom.

Banksy • Rude Copper Print • 2003, by dumpsuk on Jul 20, 2007 11:27:37 GMT 1, Hi a Newbie question,
I have a number of prints for sale the 2 x banksy prints are: Rude copper and Bomb Middle England
Bought in 2002, before POW got their hooks in, so no pow stamp to spoil them. Banksy stamped and numbered.
Is here a good place to sell them? or anyone know of a good place to sell them?
Any advice much appreciated. I also have some Jamie Hewlett prints, Shepard Fairey hand signed, Invader, Dalek, etc.
Kind regards,
Dean.

Here is a good place to start selling them. On top of that you can also contact some galleries to have them sold on your behalf, they usually take a commission for that but it could also work out good. Good luck with it.

Banksy • Rude Copper Print • 2003, by dotdot on Jul 20, 2007 12:13:38 GMT 1, Take your time - read all your pm's and try not to think people here are trying to bite your hand off
You need to think and prob confirm you have some kind of provenance on the prints - ie receipts - recollection of where / when you bought them.
Also get a hold of the numbers of the prints - which should be on them prob bottom left / right corner.
You can sell them here / use ebay (i'd advise you don't use paypal) / or galleries.
Or you can simply keep them
hope this helps
cheers
..
ps - paypal is persona non grata with a few folks here

Pretty much says it all. Though, I'd just like to add that some of the more established traditional auction houses are now considering including unsigned Banksy's in their contemporary sales. Some smaller auction houses (bloomsbury auctions for example) have already done so. This is now a realistic option, which shouldn't be discounted.
Each of the various ways of selling that have been mentioned have their benefits and detriments. It's definitely worth considering them all. Really depends on how quickly you need the money and whether you care who the prints ultimately go to.
As dotdot has mentioned, provenance (i.e., proving the authenticity of the prints) is going to be fairly key if you want to realise the full value of the prints.

Banksy • Rude Copper Print • 2003, by dumpsuk on Jul 20, 2007 12:37:59 GMT 1, Hi, thanks for the welcome and the advice. I was hoping that someone on here could give me an indication as to a fair and reasonable price i could expect to get for them. The rude copper print is no. 100/250 and the BME print is no 100/500. I bought these numbers because i just like nice round numbers . I have had these from new, they have never seen daylight and are still unframed. Purchased from Artomatic (specialists in posters/prints/packaging) on Great Sutton Street in London EC1 in 2002, my studio was above their shop before they closed down. I am sure i can dig out the reciepts from my accounts as I think I claimed them as a business expense. I have also swapped work with a number of artists and have lots of hand signed stuff and one-offs, anyone know if the gallery approach is agood one and any recommendations?
Kind regards,
Dean.

Banksy • Rude Copper Print • 2003, by BME on Jul 20, 2007 12:48:50 GMT 1, Hi,
Well, its ages since either of these prints cropped up so its guess work to a point. I'm probably shooting myself in the foot given that I want the Bomb Middle England but if I were you I would be looking at offers around 2.5-3.0k. The Rude copper will be more, maybe offers of 3.5- 4.0k but I stand to be corrected if anyone else thinks that they would go for more/ less! Galleries would charge more but you would pay a commission so may not be better off in the end. You could try talking to the helium foundation www.heliumfoundation.com or perhaps artificial gallery. Drop me a PM if you'd prefer to sell the BME privately though!

Blimey I paid the same price for the banksy stuff as I did for the obey stuff. *sigh* If only I'd known. I think these were the only 2 x banksy prints available at this time(?)
