KAWS Turlington ad disruption for sale, by smudger on Feb 26, 2011 11:25:05 GMT 1, This is from the edition of 5. For images please see the one that was for sale on Artnet as this is from the same edition. Screen-print on lithograph. 124 x 66 cm.
Condition: It has a few very slight visible imperfections on the green screen-printed bendy. Previously pinned in the corners although these are not visible when framed due to the matte black of the print. Rolled.
Provenance: Receipt from auction house. In original tube with a copy of KAWS Exposed. Both the tube and the book still have the matching shop price tags from the original sale. Signed and numbered by KAWS.
No trades.
No offers below ยฃ15k. Apologies but these will not be responded to.
It is in the UK so buyer pays shipping/import etc.

KAWS Turlington ad disruption for sale, by Hanging Around on Feb 27, 2011 11:53:37 GMT 1, don't understand why people are saying flipper, smudger was the highest bidder at the action, and managed to get the KAWS at an absolute steal โ good research pays off and if he wants to sell it on for market value (or what he thinks is market value) then all the best to him

KAWS Turlington ad disruption for sale, by howies on Feb 27, 2011 13:20:42 GMT 1, So you think it's ok for someone to grab a secondary print at a bargain price then offer it here for 5x , please .... Thats a flipper end OFF!
If you don't want the tag go back to an auction house.

KAWS Turlington ad disruption for sale, by Hanging Around on Feb 27, 2011 13:31:50 GMT 1, well, yeah
he won the auction which means he was the person who was willing to pay the most for the print. So he hasn't deprived anyone else getting the print, its not a case of supply and demand. As artylang said, its a great find.
Like you said, its a bargain price, but it was the most that someone on that day was willing to pay. So he can offer it on the forum for market value if he likes. More fool the seller at that auction.
And its end of, not end off.

KAWS Turlington ad disruption for sale, by Hanging Around on Feb 27, 2011 13:55:15 GMT 1, I would keep it too, but each to their own.
Let's say this print was offered, primary or secondary market - it doesnt matter, for ยฃX amount and both person A and person B want it, but A wants to sell it on straight away for a higher price, while B wants to stick it up on his wall.
Since both A and B are willing to pay the same price, but A gets there ahead of B and secures the print, but then sells it at an inflated price, then he could be accused of flipping, because he has deprived B of the artwork for his collection. That's supply and demand, and it happens every time something is offered way below market value.
But at an auction, if A is willing to pay more than B, then he is willing to pay the most on that particular day, regardless of perceived market value. Then he can do whatever he wants with the print as he has acquired it fairly. That's the point in auctions, the highest bidder wins.

KAWS Turlington ad disruption for sale, by mmmike on Mar 4, 2011 20:41:18 GMT 1, Sorry sort of off topic but it is also a free bump...
I've been going through the recent Kaws book. He did a lot of ad "disruptions", a lot of them CK. They seem very polished. Likely would have taken some time and maybe not done on the street. I'm thinking these likely were not disruptions at all more like collaborations with the advertisers. Anyone know any of the history?

KAWS Turlington ad disruption for sale, by mmmike on Mar 4, 2011 22:22:18 GMT 1, Thanks guys. Very cool.
To bring this back around to the original post. I love the Turlington. That is one of the first pieces I ever really wanted. However it is way more than I could pay. Good luck with the sale.
i also got a surprise Kaws delivery in the mail, but maybe I'll post that somewhere more appropriate.
