I mean, a few minutes at the computer, stick it on a thumb drive, go to a good print lab and they can print you one on nice paper. And you could even hand-tear the edges if you wanted it to be special.

You're right, and I know I'm also being cavalier and a bit flip about the issue. Yes, repurposing images to make another statement about something is legitimate art, and it is done to great effect by many artists. And I'm not even anti-MBW, I have one of his prints on my wall. This just looks like he saw a couple prints he liked and combined them into an image that looks like he did just that. And the Ali piece was more than a little like a Faile remix piece.
But as I don't actually make any art myself, I could just be talking out of my, um, "exit," as it were. So take the rant with a grain of salt.

Actually I don't like his work, think he has no talent (out of a strong commercial sense) and is just an opportunist. He's just making a fortune out of the hype. I would say he is mixing Warhol (obvious screenprint style here), Banksy (on other prints) and Shepard Fairey (used newspaper background) recipes. And it works. Good for him and his bank account :-)
I'm considering buying this print tomorrow if I can grab one, for a good ten-bagger flipping after the oscars ? lol
