That seller is retarded if you ask me. He must really need the money fast - because that could easily get at a minimum of 6-8K at a bootleg auction house.

Had I known the seller would have accepted that low an offer I would have bought it and sat on it as an investment - no joke.

Of course IF it's a fake, then the guy's done pretty well out of a "worthless" piece of paper, but I see no reason to doubt the authenticity, except the suspect price. Maybe the guy's desperation for cash got the better of him, perhaps it was a mistake of some kind (people do take drugs and drink and make questionable decisions at times), or maybe there's some stranger reason. Imo, taking this price for what looks to be the real deal is a less than smart move on the seller's part!

The only dumb asses are those that are moaning about the low price. If you feel so strongly why did you not bid and snag a bargain?

Barcode is my favourite Banksy image by a country mile. I hope it drops even further in price to be honest. I might even be able to afford one - I would sell lots of my favourite art for that priviledge of getting one - and have recently been thinking of going after an unsigned one actually. That doesn't detract from my incredulity that ANYTHING can sell one day for £13,000 and a couple of months later a seller of the same item would accept around a third of that! Greed doesn't come into it - if he/she'd put it up in an auction format with no reserve, do you honestly think it would have sold at that price? It strikes me as a case of very poor sale strategy.

Iwouldfollowyouanywhere - yeah maybe you're right - it's obviously greedy to want to get the market value for something one is selling, but it reads more like you don't really care what anyone thinks, you just couldn't miss an opportunity to say "I've been around longer than you and my collection is bigger and better." If the fact is lost on you guys that this seller has agreed a deal which stands out as very low in value, by comparison to others, then fair enough. If you don't think it's remarkable why are you posting comments on the thread? I stand by my comment that I think the seller's a silly bugger, I suppose this is because the amount of cash being discussed, may be more significant to me than some of you. Make no mistake, I would love to see these going for sub-£3k!

What's with these wankers that think they can look down their noses at others because they knew who Banksy was first anyway? It's as if they measure their value as a human being by how many prints are on the wall or what they're worth! This seems to go against the whole way of thinking Banksy is trying to promote through his art and his good deeds imo, in fact that's quite ironic, maybe he'll do an image of some cuunt surrounded by a complete collection of Banksy prints looking down on the rest of the world, all the smaller, inferior people below!
