Banksy • Barcode Print, by minibear on Dec 22, 2013 19:00:44 GMT 1, Yes. And I'm also informed that two sold at galleries for £5.5 recently, so there is certainly a market for this piece at this price privately.
I am surprised to have been able to achieve a solid £5k offer on this forum, as from my experience this is mostly suitable for trades and lowballer offers. But I think with the rareity of Barcode coming available on the secondary market, and the recent sales of 2 NBG's at over £8k, this piece is priced right for the current mood of the market and will be sold for £5k if no better offers.
Thank you for being involved in this too quinnster, and thank you for not being rude, selling off is hard enough without unnecessary negativity.

Banksy • Barcode Print, by Deleted on Dec 22, 2013 19:49:20 GMT 1, Well done Minibear, great price for you and a great print for the buyer. As long as the 2 involved in the deal are happy thats all that counts Can't be a huge amount of these knocking around now especially in that sort of condition which for an investor will make a big difference down the line.

Thanks CG. I agree, the condition and low frequency of sales on this print will prove to be a shrewd purchase at nearly any price around the £5k mark.
I will be happy and I am sure the buyer will be too.

I have nothing to hide here. that deal fell through and the seller sold to someone local in the UK. Another forum member in fact. Talked with the buyer later on and he confirmed the same 2.5K price.
was offered another in not mint condition, with a couple creases that a restorer could take care of for $1000 for $40000 only a couple months ago.
Non-idiotic priced Barcodes are out there buyers.

The only fault here is minibear is very open and honest and its a shame thats a fault. Anyway, eat drink and be merry

Banksy • Barcode Print, by Warm Gun on Dec 22, 2013 21:36:30 GMT 1, No offense Castle gallery but you're a gallery and for that reason you're one of the last members on this board who I'd listen to regarding the value of a print. It's your business to profit from the prints that you source. Excuse me for being a cynic but one could say that your excited congratulations for the member who has apparently 'sold' an unsigned print for seemingly double it's previous value could be viewed as suspect. This leaves a bad taste in my mouth. For all we know you have an unsigned barcode in stock that you've now bumped up to a bargain £4900!....although I'm sure you're a decent sort.

Banksy • Barcode Print, by Lunch Special on Dec 23, 2013 16:13:29 GMT 1, I thought the galleries take a 30-50% cut off the final sale price? How would one expect to use a gallery as a pricing guide when the seller only gets that much less form the final sale price as a percentage after the gallery takes a cut and as unfairly as it may sound, the gallery has a list of personal and private buyers they have curated in the past which allows them to " Counsel "there buyers into purchases.
Even when a person looks at ebay sales, Ive noticed we as a forum always take off somewhere around 20% when averaging current market values.
The truth is, an item for sale whether it be art, trainers or an auto, is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it whether it be a public or a private sale. Just because a signed copy of Playboy's Kate Moss issue is listed at $4k doesn't mean its worth that price unless someone is willing to pay it and does.
Ive seen many charity items go for exuberant amounts at time of auction, doesn't mean I use that to gauge the price I am willing to pay for something as some buyers go all out of there way when it comes to a charity they wish to support.

Banksy • Barcode Print, by Billy Sport on Jan 3, 2014 18:50:59 GMT 1, Happy New Year all
I have decided to look to sell my unsigned Barcode , comes with Pest Control CoA, It is framed , and was bought framed from a long standing member from here quite a few years ago.
Looking at Pick up only , or to be packed by an art specialist courier. I am London based.
As to price, reading the thread just before Xmas certainly helped me to decide to sell, please make an offer, and lets see if those figures are true.
cheers.

Banksy • Barcode Print, by Dexter Bulldog on Jan 3, 2014 21:05:44 GMT 1, Yeah sorry to say but the last sale did not happen at 5k. The seller messaged me and said something about a dran original being purchased instead by mr. solid 5k offer and that it was for sale again, and he was looking for 4k or so. Not sure what happened with final sale price, but seemed like the 5k was not entirely legit. Is that how sales work here? People make threads, get messagesfrom a bunch of people, say its sold on the thread, and then 2 weeks later start pm'ing people saying its magically available for a less than that bs high price posted?

Firstly GLWS billysport, you will be receiving a fair amount of interest on here I'm sure, with offers ranging from £2,800-£4,000 comfortably.
dexterbulldog & quinnster, fyi there was no duping regarding my attempt to sell on this forum. I had received a £5k offer, and yes the buyer proceeded with another purchase instead. I am still in possession of my piece and am certain to achieve a similar offer again in the very near future, either on here or privately.
Please refrain from flippant accusations when, as CG said on my fs, the only thing I had done in error was try and offer the forum some transparency with my sale.

Just imagine how it looks from a buyer. I start w 3500, and immediately you have a SOLID 5000. Ok someone really wants it really bad and is paying up. Happens. But then a week later they disappear, and it could seem like the 5k was theatrics for an easy 4k ish sale. Like i said, "imagine" and "could". Im not accusing you of anything, its the internet and the 5k buyer very well could have decided to buy something else, changed their mind, or just been lying. just saying how it looks. As far as transparency, i really wish there was a way for buyer and seller to enter their sale price and it tracked like ex beans.

Banksy • Barcode Print, by Quinnster on Jan 4, 2014 8:49:27 GMT 1, Yeah sorry to say but the last sale did not happen at 5k.
These are never worth £5k and never will be if you pay that then you have more money than sense..... I would gladly sell mine for £5k but ever think I will.
