As I mentioned earlier it's likely that it was a test piece, the spray is very similar to the released version but closer to the AP. Also the different paper type of course. I've had many backdoor prints and wouldn't buy from anywhere other than my trusted sources and certainly wouldn't sell on here or ebay if there was any doubt. I buy from mike knowing it's legit. If I want to sell however the buyer will have to take me at my word that it came from a true source. Then if they want to sell one day it's even less trustworthy.
PC is the only way unless you're only spending a hundred quid or whatever on it and just want something by banksy that may be real on the wall.

Agree with previous posts, current premium is about 14-16k GBP.
Highly second reaching out to Andy at Castle Gallery, or try your luck with the 1-2 unsigned that seem to always be posted on eBay.

Many people have been quietly sitting on a lot of PPs for years and years. There have been huge rows on this forum (Backdoor Brummie....et al) in the past about this whole subject.
Fact is you can put the real prints side by side(I can with my collection) with a lot of the proofs that leaked over the years and they are IDENTICAL in every respect apart from the number/sig etc unlike the WCP trash...
I too have a fair hunch where Mike sourced this print (and if it's who I think it is... they're very very trustworthy)... but I just flagged this particular one!!
The only bullshit is the price that these are fetching...They used to be very cheap.
Most of them are not FAKES in the true sense of the word... They are backdoor prints

Knock offs, fakes, someone keeping the screens.. call em what you will, but "Backdoor prints" isn't a terminology used anywhere but on here by the people who sell them. Sneaking in terms like PP's doesn't help. PP's are officially part of the edition and registered as such. Let's call em what they are hey. At best, stolen run offs that should have been scrapped and binned. Bits of Banksy tat left at the printers after a long night, stuff the printer and his assistant did alone messing about. Basically rubbish that needed binning. Maybe they wouldn't command the prices they do and it won't encourage other printers to keep what should rightly and legally be destroyed if they're called out. This little "art rascal" "backdoor" "cheeky chappy" stuff needs to be called out when it happens, it's theft and deception established to defraud street and urban art fans. That way lies Leonard Street and James Golding et al.

I would imagine galleries will be contacting you at that price. I had one of these briefly and sold it to upgrade to another Banksy og and whilst I do not regret that decision I would dearly love to add this to my collection.
