BANKSY - LA Billboard Inside Job, by bullet on Mar 2, 2011 14:03:33 GMT 1, I think people are too caught up in what Banksy does and what for , just like the image, at the end of the day banksy is human im sure of it, and would act in a way many of us would , If you can honestly see your self doing things differntly then i commend you but honestly im sure most people would have done this. Banksy is a business like it or not, ever since day one he was a brand and idea, im sure he always wanted to make it in the art world and make a living out of it, he has acheieved his goal, Those who are anti establishment and keen to be seen as not selling out, need to wake up a little or stick to the fact that you may not make enough money to do all the things you wish, but be happy in the fact that you are not selling out,. even if ultimatly no one cares if you do. . Its the way of the world. He makes good Art so who gives a s**t, Of course Banksy work hints at anti establishment and does touch upon certain important points in todays society, but if he didnt his work would not be half as interesting, he touched on a theme an idea and stuck with it. Ultimatly he is great at creating publicty. I bet he drinks coke, wheres Addidas whilst he is on his holidays to Disney Land, stops of in Mc D's for a bite to eat then back to his Massive holiday rental where the maids and servants have prepared his dinner for the evening.
If anyone tries to be anti-establishment they will end up with no job, no money, no home, nothing.
It's an unrealistic ideal in today's world. If you want to be anti-establishment, go live in a tent up a mountain or something.
Usually the ones crying out for someone to be anti-establishment are the ones that are sat behind a desk eating a packed tesco chicken and bacon sandwich and a bag of cheese and onion for an hour every day...Then in meetings all afternoon.
Also noted this week that someone that thinks they are anti-establishment (john lydon) is selling his 'anti-establishment' book to all the 'normal and real people of britain' for £450 limiting it to 1500 copies.
Can't be making enough off his f**king butter adverts.
Anti-establishment has never existed - it is just a massive front and people that think it is real are very delusional.

Really, sorry, but this sounds like someone without the intelligence or will to really embrace what they know to be right. You know, that gut feeling not to sell your soul for few quid. Keep convincing yourself otherwise.
Considering what's happening on the streets, both in Europe and the Middle East, I think you'll find "anti establishment" is pretty much alive and well, probably never more so, open your eyes.. Granted, there are a LOT of graphic design graduates who walk the walk and talk the talk..but really, don't have the balls, intelligence or any sort of personal philosophy beyond how to get from Tesco ready meals to M&S without climbing on the backs of others. Soulless parasites that they are, Cleggites. Sadly symptomatic of much of the UK street art scene.

Nothing is anti-establishment. It is impossible to be anti-establishment. Keep telling yourself that nuart.

BANKSY - LA Billboard Inside Job, by alistairkhalil on Mar 2, 2011 16:07:41 GMT 1, No Libya and all the other arab nations are far from being "anti" anything at the moment..
The arabs have been oppressed for so many years that they need to be drip fed democracy and freedom.. Like milk with a baby... Many of the big powers in the world fail to understand that..
If you want anti-establishment go to a council estate in London.. You will find a family of 5 living in two rooms with 50 pounds a week.. All with a heroin addiction
