C'mon all you lottery winners,,,make yourselves known or the forum will jump to the conclusion that the 'lottery' prints were just divvied out to mates of the artist, which is allegedly precisely what occured with Moscow.....

My close friend got one. email was sent last night, told me the e-mail was sent around 6pm PST so 9ish EST
EDIT: lottery of 50 was initially for UK only, but an EB member told me it was later opened to worldwide so I told my friend which lives in the US and he got one.

Great - so probably only about 20 going to UK winners at best, when you take out international winners and friends of the artist....

Nick Walker โข TMA New York, by Deleted on Feb 28, 2011 22:37:47 GMT 1, I don't have any issue with lottery winners being in the UK, USA, Asia, Timbuktu or the moon - after all look what happened with CYW. Can't have it both ways....but if there's gonna be a lottery for 50 then that should occur fairly. Not (of course) that I'm suggesting for a nano second that this wasn't.

when Nick Waller sends out emails like this "A lottery has been set up making 50 prints available for collectors outside of the US." It would f**k me off no end if I entered to find out later that it was reduced to a lot less than that. I am sure there were more than 50 entrants from the UK.

I spoke to the gallery tonight and was told that the 50 UK prints are already in the UK - which will hopefully make it a lot quicker and maybe cheaper on tax / duty, etc.

With your email they'd be able to determine your IP address and know exactly where you're sending it from.

Mailing lists tell you where the person is from, what browser they are using, if they are signed up twice from the same IP. Also it tells you who has signed up twice with new information and if they have been removed from a list previously
Its more sophisticated than just a name on the list.

sorry, this was total rubbish it seems. I've also had an email and the $790 is inclusive of postage I believe, but I'm probably wrong about that as well.

To the first question... yes they will know if they use a mailing list provider, which they will as its a send to all list.
to the second... you cant find out unless you have a mailing list provider
The information you get is personal though and you are not allowed to distribute information about it due to personal information etc. You can literally tell when and where your emails sent back were opened as well. It even provides you with how many people have read and clicked a link in the email.
it is quite scary really.

that is scary, so someone, somewhere knows each time I - a friend of a friend, clicks on one of those chief-enlargment junk mails?
