Nick Walker • TMA New York, by mmmike on Mar 1, 2011 15:36:41 GMT 1, I was told 24hrs to respond to the lotto. A guy at the gallery told me to stop by yesterday to see if anyone had not bought from the lotto and said there may be some available. We checked in and were told there weren't. I think that was because the lotto was latter than he thought. There were a couple APs that had not been picked up or paid for. We were told we could buy them if we came back at 3 and they were still there. Sadly they were picked up by 3. Oh well prob for the best. The APs are really nice but not cheap. I would rather have got a normal edition for $750.

There's so much hype for new releases, but ultimately most people want to buy them at cost and aren't fussed enough to pay much more.... there's always the next release!

Well that would do it. And thats the best way to look at these sort of things.
You and others don't think its very good, many people think its very good, others think its ok. Some will profit from it, some will store it, some will frame it to look at.
I liked it, missed out on it, so be it

I entered the lottery.
I dint win the chance to buy it!
I still like it!
Im not going to talk prices down.
I might even go to far as to say, they might go up.
Congrats to those of you who scored one.
Please tell me someone else here thinks the same as me?

it is true, hence why most are on ebay. Its certainly not for the love of the art but for the love of the money

Agree with you banksee. I still feel a little peeved I wasn't one of the chosen ones. Still, I have my 'Life's Too Short' to keep me company though.

Iv never been lucky on the TMA's. Iv owned other Walkers but the TMA's are my favourite. Especially Empire State. Hoping there will be more.

Would love a TMA London and/or Empire's State. His best TMA's in my opinion.

I registered as soon as I got the e mail about the print release (within a minute of getting it via my BB) and was lucky enough to get the lottery winner e mail this morning. Still waiting to be able to pay (gallery not ready yet) but very pleased to add this to my TMA collection.....
I also registered within seconds of the email and got lucky also, perhaps they took the first 50? Which would mean it wasnt a lottery at all and more related to an F5 purchase!
Probably just a coincidence though...maybe

Well, they seem to know who he is, or at least that buying the print was an easy route to a fast buck!
What I meant was, there was a huge queue for 100 prints, so although not up to Banksy standard, NW does have a following in the US. Being an optimist, i'd like to think that at least some of the people who missed out intended on keeping it.
It is a massive shame though, and always the same with each release that before the ink is dry, a large percentage of prints are already on eBay.
Regards the lottery, it does seem that there are several forum members who've managed to get one, which seems to indicate it was carried out fairly (i've only heard stories about prior NW releases).
