The short version of it is that I paid a 50% deposit on a Friday for them to then rack up 50 posts on another forum to meet sales conditions and list it for sale there 2 days later. They then pleaded ignorance when confronted about it and stated that they weren't going to refund me because "we had made a deal" or some other bullshit and wanted to punish me. Paypal eventually refunded me after I called them about it.
I'm more than happy to post pictures, names and contact addresses if the mods won't take them down so no one else gets scammed.

Forum stands strong though - it is hard to post a FS on here and really succeed in getting away with anything.
I buy on here with a ton of confidence. Kinda hard to get swindled if you've been around the block on the UAA... and I haven't even been here that long!

That is not to suggest there should be total anarchy. But for the greater good such information should be published. Surely this is where "guardians" could take the lead and assume some responsibility, so us mere members are not deemed to have stepped out of line. Perhaps they can take a collective decision, maybe even have a pow-wow. All this "introduce yourself to the forum" is all very well but it seems that the forum has become so all-embracing that scammers and all sorts can openly ply their illicit trade because of the "rules". There is an interesting balance between privacy rights, confidence and freedom of expression and it has long been held that there is no confidence in iniquity. It's almost as if the rules here (whatever they are) are designed to aid and abet illicit activity. |
