Grey Nola and CYW 58 Edition for sale., by Poppy Sunshine on Apr 7, 2011 8:22:43 GMT 1, I have a potential option on something special and that means the very special Nola is the perfect option to convert into the cash.
Absolutely no trades or swaps. Cash Only.
I anticipate a lot of replies so please don't ask me what I want as I will probably not reply. Whatever I am offered for this will be the offer I put forward for the piece I want and if I get it then you get the Nola. Simples!
Framed and beautiful with COA. You know what it looks like but this is particularly nicely framed.
Can send pics if you pm an email address but I am unable to get pictures up on the forum for some reason.
CYW 58 edition also added and Grin Reaper may also be on the list.

Grey Nola and CYW 58 Edition for sale., by misterx on Apr 7, 2011 8:38:41 GMT 1, You make a valid point debaser...
Why not just name your price based on what you are expected to pay for the other piece??
All sounds very cloak n dagger...

Grey Nola and CYW 58 Edition for sale., by Poppy Sunshine on Apr 7, 2011 8:47:37 GMT 1, I suspect you have no experience of trying to sell something on the forum then.
I have a piece on offer to me and the seller has asked for an offer. All I can offer is what I get for the Nola. Is that difficult to understand. How can I make an offer for the other piece if I don't know what I'll get.
Also, I am being courteous to interested parties by asking them respectfully to make an offer and not ask me what I want. I'm trying not to end up with a stream of people asking a question I can't answer and us all wasting time.
What I hate debaser is people sticking their unwanted nose in and commenting on something that doesn't involve them.
Why not move on and and comment on something where people might give a sh*t what you think.

Grey Nola and CYW 58 Edition for sale., by Poppy Sunshine on Apr 7, 2011 8:57:22 GMT 1, If you hate any sales thread that basically asks potential buyers to make an offer then I suspect you must be filled with rage at almost every thread you read debaser.
Your first comment within seconds of me posting this was to complain about it. If you are a potential buyer of anything then perhaps you ought to try to come across as one instead of just sounding like another tyre kicking whinger.
Why not stick to the galleries and it should make you very happy.

Grey Nola and CYW 58 Edition for sale., by volvic on Apr 7, 2011 9:42:49 GMT 1, i have to agree i get turned off by the make an offer thread. The thought of battling it out over pm's with other people throwing offers around is enough to make my stomach churn i would much rather know what someone wants and know if I myself can afford it, just like you yourself will then know if you can afford your item poppy .... you will end up over paying and being in a bidding war which in turn will make you over pay.

Grey Nola and CYW 58 Edition for sale., by Poppy Sunshine on Apr 7, 2011 11:12:11 GMT 1, Appreciate your point volvic and it certainly is not the way I normally like to do things. However, referring back to my previous explanation on this occasion the price I get is the price I can offer for the piece I want. There'd be little point asking for ยฃ5k for example if I then go back to the seller of the piece I want and he knocks me back. Then I wouldn't get the piece and would look an idiot having to tell the buyer of my piece that they couldn't have it.
It's the only way I can do it but it's looking like something which understandably annoys certain people and is looking like a no win situation.

Grey Nola and CYW 58 Edition for sale., by redfred on Apr 7, 2011 11:22:10 GMT 1, Probably sounds stupid but can you not just ask the seller of the piece you want just how much he wants for it then you will have a base line to work from.

Grey Nola and CYW 58 Edition for sale., by Poppy Sunshine on Apr 7, 2011 11:28:49 GMT 1, Why didn't I think of that
Just joking so don't take that as a sarcastic reply
A price from him would have made things so much easier. I could keep upping my offer to him until we get to the point where he says yes but if I then can't get that amount of money for my sales we are again in a situation where I have to withdraw my offer and look like a time waster.
It's not ideal and not how I'd prefer things to be but I'm sure if you put all the above info together it becomes clear what the situation is
Crikey I'm spending more time trying to explain myself than answering relevant pm's at the moment.

poppy, delete this thread and start a new one otherwise as you said you will spend all your time explaining yourself, we all know how frustrating it is trying to answer pms with silly questions(i had 200 for the soupcan and only about 60 were genuine questions) so i dont blame you for getting pi**ed off, but start fresh and hopefully you will get them sold... good luck anyway. mo

Either way good luck, hope it works out for you and look forward to seeing the latest purchase

Grey Nola and CYW 58 Edition for sale., by mattgold on Apr 7, 2011 14:00:55 GMT 1, Any real buyer will know what the market price is and offer accordingly. If you need a starting price, you're window shopping.
GL Poppy... sorry for another post on your thread.

...again, Poppy, apologies for this happening on your sale thread but I don't agree with this at all.
Whenever a sale thread says 'offers by pm' or similar, my opening question is invariably 'what's a ballpark price?', and this has often been the starting point from which I've gone-on to buy something...
Who's to say there's any similarity between what the buyer wants to get and the seller wants to pay?
You can still get offers above and below a starting price, but at least you aren't wasting time faffing around IMO.
