"Show Me The Monet", by yorobi on Oct 1, 2007 13:23:14 GMT 1, I was really hoping to find some info about te material and the size of this canvas.. I have to assume ( I guess) that this was mdae in the same way as the woman with gas mask, namely printed out and painted over.. However if I compare this work to the "original" of Monets' Bassin aux Nympheas, I must notice the difference in use of colour in some places.. obviously.. would you say that this work is strictly about taking the original out of context and putting it into an environmental anti- consumer statement or would it more ( or also ) be about commenting on the fact that your dentist is likely to have a Monet hanging in the waiting room. Also the title is quite remarkable.. is it about the landscape? the abscense of the pure and idyllic and thus the spoiledness or is about Banksy making money? and so maybe even also encorperating his own being into the realm he seems to protest against.. ?
