"To address the print edition question, I do with to release an edition from this show. FFDG and I will be working on a strategy and it will most likely be towards the closing date of this show. "
good times!

He said in my interview with him:
"it would be cool to work on a painting with Banksy, I could paint something and he could vandalize it."

Josh Keyes - Fecal Face Gallery, by robinbanks on Mar 31, 2011 12:14:48 GMT 1, I like JK's stuff generally, but I sometimes find some of it a bit naff if I'm being honest, and I'm afraid this falls into that category for me.
I think it might have worked a bit better if he'd thought about the anatomy a bit more - rather than just sticking three head studies on the end of a regular tiger body.
It just doesn't look right to me (obviously it's a tiger with three heads so its not meant to look "right") if you know what I mean?

Josh Keyes - Fecal Face Gallery, by connecta1 on Mar 31, 2011 12:24:56 GMT 1, ...'naff'?
Not a word that springs to mind when I look at his work... dunno what you mean about not looking 'right' either... one of the most appealing things to me is that it's clear he's done his homework and they are about as anatomically correct as it's possible to be.
The tiger for example, cover any two heads up and the posture is absolutely spot on for each... no idea what you're on about tbh.

Google cerberus and let me know what you think after... might clear things up for you
BTW is naff a british expression?

That's kind of my point.
They are just three separate poses combined together with not a lot of thought for what's going on underneath.
It looks as though if the one bending down were to lift its head up it would crush the middle one's windpipe.

There you go. Thank you.
You can see on the illustrations of Cerberus that the shoulders are much broader and the front legs much wider apart.
Whereas the piece above is just a normal tiger body with 3 different tiger heads painted on the end.

Josh Keyes - Fecal Face Gallery, by saint on Mar 31, 2011 12:41:58 GMT 1, Each to their own, i dont agree and personally think it looks very well done. Bit hard to be critical of an imaginary animal painting which is in itself a rework of an imaginary animal imo, but there ya go.

I think one of the tigers heads (the bone sniffer) blocks the broadness of the front. I'm a big animal guy and almost went into biology/zoology and I can tell you the front of the bod is much broader then your average tiger.
I'm guessing Josh didn't want to make the tiger look like it was on steroids so he slimmed it down a bit and although I'm no expert on mythical creatures I could definitely see this as being an actual accurate mutation

Josh Keyes - Fecal Face Gallery, by saint on Mar 31, 2011 13:30:59 GMT 1, I did do zoology at uni and also happen to be an expert on the biology of mythological creatures, and so can assure you its definitely the same broadness as the last cerberus/tiger cross breed i dissected in the lab. Luckily it was only an infant, but don't worry as it had died of natural courses.... well it had been attacked by a phoenix and a griffin anyways, i wouldnt have got near it cos normally they'd have eaten the carcass but a hippocamp scared them off.
