Show everyone your latest Art Purchase?, by a4mnt on Sept 11, 2007 21:40:10 GMT 1, Finally, finally got my Guy Denning original mounted.
1m x 1m cellulose aerosol on steel. As Guy describes it : "this was done with automotive aerosol paint (redox primer, white primer and black gloss) through letter stencils onto a rusty piece of sheet steel. no brushes - a painting done without touching the surface... that's a new one for me"
dart.fine-art.com/crit/CritMessage.asp?intMsgID=26960
Here it is before the mount :
And after - looking even more fantastic :
Close up showing the canvas 'floating' within the frame.
And in situ, from the bottom of the stairs......
....and from the top of the stairs.
So chuffed with this. The canvas, the mounting and the positioning.
;D
Minotaur Weapon pics to come soon.....

I'd be careful putting it behind the TV though, they give off a lot of heat which could dry out the print.

Exactly. Hardly what I'd class a "prime position"!

Show everyone your latest Art Purchase?, by Phil Midds on Sept 12, 2007 16:29:15 GMT 1, Thanks guys, I appreciate everyone's concern but at the end of the day I chose to put the print where I would most enjoy it. It's not my style to be overly precious about any of my possessions and I'm well aware of the risks of direct sunlight on a print. Due to the aspect of my house it's not in direct/strong sunshine for long (only very early morning). I've had it a while now and it's still in perfect condition. If/when I notice any signs of fading I'll reconsider.
I know it's current market value but I didn't buy this print as an investment - I bought it coz I love it and it's never entered my mind to sell it now or in the foreseeable future. Anyway, I look at it every day due to the position of it I and get lots of enjoyment from it - and my enjoyment is nothing to do with the prints market value.
