Show everyone your latest Art Purchase?, by Curley on Oct 15, 2007 16:38:23 GMT 1, Only tip i have when buying these frames is to be extremely thorough when checking them for damage as the white finish does seem to chip/mark very easily - took me 4 orders at 2 different stores before i could find 2 that were not damaged...! Also, get them packed well in the store before leaving... all to easy to knock an edge getting them out of the car boot!
Rather heavy to lug round town as well.

Show everyone your latest Art Purchase?, by themightyreds on Oct 15, 2007 19:45:31 GMT 1, There's a light frame the same size as the inner of the main frame and the edges of the glass that is held in by little rotating metal latches on the back of the frame. I was a bit dubious about it all holding together ok as there's a fair bit of weight to it, but now they're up they seem fine, and the prints look really nice and crisp the way they are held so flat between the glass.

This is one of the AP's with hand applied acrylic heart and splatters of red. Was a bit of a measuring job to get them the same height, had to be done though as they are right opposite each other. And this one is up on the wall now too Bedminster AP - the last one apparently!
How are those mounted? I really like it a lot, and may have to steal that idea from ya. Hope you dont mind

Glad you like! The piece is an oil on board titled 'The Way We Are' by Jen Garrido. www.jengarrido.com/
I bought it from Branch Gallery in the US. www.branchgallery.com and they have quite a few pieces of hers left, including one I really want but can't afford yet, so no one buy it!
The pictures don't do it justice really, it has a beautifully textured surface which I can't resist touching!

Whoops! How embarrassing ;D Love the frame as well. I don't really go for swept frames, I find them a little tacky. But this white one is beautiful!

Show everyone your latest Art Purchase?, by bobbyt23 on Oct 15, 2007 22:02:16 GMT 1, Finally got two giclee prints off my mate (only took about 4 months ;D) The Nowhere Bus was scanned by myself off the Sex Pistols 7" vinyl pic sleeve of Pretty Vacant, then a little photoshop work then printed via large format inkjet (aka giclee) framed in a off the self 50cm x 50cm Habitat frame. The Jane Fonda image was taken from the internet then in photoshop blown up and given a very course halftone dot and coloured, then printed like the Nowhere Bus to fit the Habitat frame. Cheap art Close up
Nice CBL.
Gotta love cheap art. I got the Banksy Fairytale cottage and one of the oil paintings digitally printed for the girlfriend and they look superb. Absolute bargain and the only way we'd ever get one of the crude oils up on our walls.
I'll post some pictures when we get them framed.
