Show everyone your latest Art Purchase?, by eyectopus on Sept 4, 2021 20:10:22 GMT 1, Charlie Bronson, that is a great piece. A Kuksi piece is something I would love to have. Were you able to give suggestions to Chris on any elements of the piece? Thanks @eyeoctopus! I sure was . He was open to suggestions(discussed having a central figure, theme, any elements of his previous pieces that I really liked etc) and updated me regularly throughout. He was a pleasure to work with during the process.
The central figure is excellent and really adds to it. It must have been a great experience having a part in a piece like that and then to get it on the wall aswell.

It was great . First time I saw his work in person was in 2009, at the Monster Group Show at Copro Gallery. I was blown away and wanted a piece ever since. Really happy to finally have one on the wall.

Love the central figure, theme and composition...great size too! I stumbled across a few monstrous pieces several years back at Josh Liner's gallery in NYC and Josh was nice enough to give me one of Kris' books. His work is intricate and detailed beyond belief with all sorts of little "stories" happening in every nook and cranny.
Are you in the US Charlie Bronson ?

Thanks, Cardiff. That show he had at Joshua Liner looked amazing. Wish I could have checked it out in person. Yep, I am in the US .

I made it to the Josh Liner Gallery in 2008 to see the Chris Kuksi stuff. I had a day where I planned to visit the Josh Liner gallery, Alex Grey COSM, and Last Rites tattoo studio (I was missing a show there by a few weeks that included Shawn Barber and Vincent Castiglia).
I made it to see the Kuksi exhibition and into Alex Grey's studio in addition to the exhibition which was a great experience, but Last Rites was closed.
Seeing the Kuksi work was the highlight of the day which included seeing a swat team break into a building a few feet away from me

That’s really cool, @eyeoctopus. Those Kuksi pieces at JL looked amazing from the pics I saw. Really wish I could’ve seen it in person. I’m a big fan of Paul Booth’s Last Rites Gallery. I loved their annual 13th Hour Show. Big Barber fan too; got a few of his early Doll Series paintings. Castaglia’s whole blood as paint thing is pretty crazy . Was really bummed to hear of Last Rites closing due to Covid. Hoping they make a comeback.

I'm sure they will make a come back at some point. I wouldn't say Paul Booth would stay without a studio and gallery for too long.
The Barber Doll Series is great. You are lucky to have some of his stuff. The Castiglia's are crazy alright both in design and method 🙂
I have seen some Paul Booth paintings at a show in London and they were amazing, I was very tempted but didn't pick one up. I got a tattoo from him, so happy with that.
I was lucky to get some Guy Aitchison paintings from a show that Alex Grey ran in 2006. It was another example of the tattoo related art and visionary art fusing.
Here is a clip from it:

Speaking of which, I got given this Vic Reeves print for my birthday. John, George, Ringo and Angela Merkel. 😂

Nail and put on wall works. Box frames work. Glass not really necessary

Glass not really necessary It depends if you want to see ‘Kuntrasen’ written large down the side of the canvas. I always found this text distracts from the original image, so a black box frame would be my choice as inexpensive as well. However, I do like seeing the drips down the side of a canvas. Great artwork though
