Just out of curiosity, when did you order that Shat-at canvas? I paid for mine about 2 months ago but have heard nothing since so I wondered when you put your order in?

manchestermike, my fave is your Virgin Mary, very nice frame job.
willamsa, very jealous, Kate looks excellent.
foundation, that space was made for your Lucy, nice one.
lesroy, good to see your very well framed WSM on the wall. Will I see your Have A Nice Day tribute on ebay anytime soon?
gbh, glad you've rescued your rats from the clips.
Ågentßacardi, your Have A Nice Day doesn't look too bad, but you're probably right, it could look better.
I'm pretty skint at the moment so I'm going to have to wait a few months before getting any more on the walls.
Happy New Year to you all, and good luck with your framing projects in 2007.

I really like that image Can you take a pic from further away of that wall so we can see all those pieces you're hanging on the wall together? I spy a Vettriani Banksy?
Aye lesroy, it's a repro of the Vettriano-as-remixed-by-Banksy 'Crude Oils' Here's a picture of the wall:
I planned to arrange the pieces in a way that's aesthetically and juxtapositionally pleasing, but I'm just not hitting it quite right That's the best I can do for now
And a close-up of my favorite non-Banksy, non-Beejoir piece so far:
I think it's hilarious

Show everyone your latest Art Purchase?, by Ågent ßacardi on Dec 31, 2006 21:27:46 GMT 1, Bacardi... Have you thought about having 3 mounts... Firstly have about 10mm of black, then 10mm of yellow to match the faces then say 40mm of black or white... then into a frame? Just a thought I was having matey Or the opposite version... black frame, white mount ??
I'm cracking up at your 'tribute'!! Hahahahahaha!!!!! ;D ;D ;D (But why is that lil' guy on the right so sad?)
But many thanks for your suggestions - I really like the first one, and I think I'm gonna do it exactly like that! I'm just waiting for January's paycheck, and I'm getting that baby redone. It's the oldest Banksy I own, and it's sure as hell not gonna settle for a mediocre frame job!
Foundation: That picture is a bit dark, is there a black mount beneath the black frame? Or is it just a thick black frame? Looks simple and nice!

Haha, and eBay was exactly where I got that one from! I love it - the original piece was by Jean-Baptiste Perroneau, called "Girl with A Kitten"... but I'm sure you already knew that! ;D
As for the frame, it originally came with a dull blue plasticky-looking frame, and I wanted to change it to a more museum-ish look to further accentuate the satire. I got lucky with the frame for this one, as my framer had the mouldings left over from a much larger piece, and I convinced him to use them for this small-ish piece (he was gonna throw it out anyway). Only cost me about £20, the cheapest frame job I've ever done!
(P/S. The eBay auction ended with a little bit of a bidding war... were you my 'opponent' by any chance?? )

Yeah, the A/Ps were indeed prints... my LV Child is a canvas (edition of 3) acquired directly from Beejoir da man! ;D I'm extremely chuffed with it - quite the provocative conversation piece!
(Just noticed - I've never used the word 'chuffed' prior to this board. Now it slips out of my lips occasionally, and people look at me all weird )

Oh yes, please do!!
I've also only recently discovered that leftover frame mouldings are the way to go. In many instances, them being aged and slightly damaged only makes them more interesting... kind of like how people buy jeans and rip them up for that worn out look. And the best thing is how cheap they are!! I'm certainly going to be on the lookout for old frame mouldings from now on!
And if you still want one of the Girl with Coke thingies, I believe that you can commission one from them. Their eBay store name is vandaldesigns, and I think that it's great art that's very affordable (for a change!)

May I ask how much it was? I would have much rather bought a canvas, over the print that I have.

You're right about that, but after that one, he did another edition of 3 for a few shows he had around the world. I got mine from his show in Japan These 3, in Beejoir's own words, are a bit smaller than that one that sold on eBay and more carefully done. And cheaper too (I've pm'ed you the price I paid)
I actually tried bidding for the one that went on eBay but eventually got outbid (it went for over £500). I'm now very glad that I did, 'cos I saved quite a bunch of money, and got a much nicer color in the process too (the one on eBay had a cream-ish/off-white-ish background) ;D

I've had it framed since March and yes lots of v positive comments
they were pricey, the original was a run of 50 and £1.5K but they went straight away there were six colourways in a run of 20 each at £2.5 each (or the set of six for £12K)
