Show everyone your latest Art Purchase?, by Ågent ßacardi on Feb 3, 2007 21:45:30 GMT 1, Just got my Placard Rat back from the framers yesterday. Thought it would be nice to create a border with multiple mounts - a black one with a little bit of red to complement the print colors. Pretty chuffed with the result! ;D
To be completely honest, I was never too impressed with the Placard Rats, and bought one basically because it was a good price, and I also thought that every true Banksy fan should have at least one rat in their collection. But with the way the framing turned out, it's become one of my favorite Banksys on the wall! It's amazing how a frame job can completely alter the look of a print! ;D

You can't tell bc of the darkness of the photo. have a look on page 20 of this thread to see another photo of it and you can see the mount. never thought of a super-size frame though.

Show everyone your latest Art Purchase?, by mido on Feb 5, 2007 3:08:16 GMT 1, placard rats are very underated. Yours looks great!!
I was one of the only people who said they realy liked them! Partly because they mean something to me, having seen them on the street.
I could though understand people thinking they were too similar and also at the time they seemed expensive because they were small, simple and not very colourful.

And the run of 175 each for the unsigned and 75 for the signed makes each one pretty scarce.

Show everyone your latest Art Purchase?, by Ågent ßacardi on Feb 5, 2007 21:07:11 GMT 1, Thanks everyone!! ;D With the frame job, my Placard Rat has really grown on me. I actually like it more than most other Banksy prints that I have! What an incredible difference a frame job can make - it's almost as if you're altering the print itself.
I just took the plunge and paid way too much money for a Bomb Hugger. But then, it's been my "must have" classic Banksy, so I'm sure I'll recover from my hurt once I get it. Gonna get it framed once I get it, and that's gonna be the last Banksy for me for a looooonnnnnggg time I've over-extended myself with all the buying and framing - I still have Flag and Applause waiting in my "To be framed" stack!
I started posting actively on this board with only 2 prints from the LA show... and now I have 10! *Massive Guilt Attack*

ahahaha! I think you might be right - it's gonna be close to impossible to walk away! But then again... if my credit cards are maxed out, and my bank account is suffering from an unhealthy balance, then there's nothing I can do. That's top-notch intervention right there!
